Real People Eat Real Food

Chemicals and Additives

'We are living in a world today where lemonade is made from artificial flavours and furniture polish is made from real lemons.'
Alfred E. Newman

There is never one thing alone that causes ill health or disease - it will always be a combination of many things - BUT - if there were one aspect of our diet that is more irritating than any other - I believe it would be the addition of all the chemicals - the inorganic, lifeless, poisonous chemicals that are listed on the containers of the foodstuffs that occupy the shelves of the supermarkets.

• Let's face it folks - we are 'organic by nature.'

• The body cannot efficiently utilize inorganic matter.

• It will be forced to either lay it down somewhere or attempt to eliminate it - either way - a total waste of energy.

• There are thousands of food additives and chemicals in common use by the world's food industry.

Since the USDA no longer provides data on the amount of additives consumed by the average person (in the Western world) we have to extrapolate a little bit.

• In 1979 the USDA determined that each person consumed up to ¾ of a ton of food each year - of that, additives made up less than 1%.

• If we increase the amount of food consumed over the past 30 yeas we could reasonably expect each person to be ingesting up to and over ½ ounce of additives per day.

• The Columbia Encyclopaedia tells us that food additives comprise approximately 10% (about 150 lbs) of the food consumed by the average American adult.

• The laboratory CANNOT duplicate 'mother nature.

• Additives' are simply chemicals that resemble 'qualities' of food in name only.

• They have no life force.

And I might add - that all vitamins, supplements, tonics and tinctures that are produced and sold in shops - they have no life force either - they can stimulate - or they can depress the nervous system - but that's it.
If you want real health - not just a shine on the surface with the furniture polish - eat the real deal - chemicals are just the peel of the fruit - they cannot build health.

Protein in the diet

October 1st 2009 01:08
In regards to Nutrition and Diet - There appears to be much confusion regarding the term 'Protein - specifically the types of and amounts of protein needed by the human organism.

A diet fit for health - for the human species at least - should consist of approximately 50% fruit, 35% vegetable, 10-15% Starch (complex carbohydrates) and no more than 5-10% protein (and this should be vegetable protein only)

Unfortunately, our social history shows dinner plates constantly overflowing with starch and protein while the basic 'alkaline producing foods' of fruit and veg are relegated to the order of 'side dishes.'

According to one eminent physiologist, Professor R Chittenden - 'The amount of proteid or albuminous food needed daily for the actual physiological wants of the body is not more than one-half that ordinarily consumed by the average man.'

All foods, when 'burned' within the fire of metabolism, leave a residue - this residue (or ash) is alkaline, acidic or neutral.

Healthy blood comes in at approximately 7.4 pH alkaline.

A diet rich in protein (whether animal or vegetable will only serve to change the alkalinity of the blood away from its normal - toward a less alkaline state.

This condition will irritate the bloodstream and cause disease symptoms.

For better health - reduce the amount of protein in your diet.

It is suggested that 1 gram of protein for every kilo of weight is sufficient for our dietary needs.

Example - if you weigh 75 kg - then 75 Gms of protein per day is sufficient.

1 Gram equals - 0.0353 of an Ounce.

1 Ounce equals - 28.3 Grams.

'Detox' and its implications

October 1st 2009 01:05
bout the word ‘detox’ and its implications.

it’s only in the past year or so that I’ve begun to use the word ‘detox’ – the reason for incorporating this word? – I’m trying to keep up with the times.

So let’s look at the word ‘detox’ – which has become somewhat of a new-age ‘coat hanger’ - on which many people, and practitioners, hang their hopes of better health.

The great dictionary in the sky – Wikipedia – states that ‘Body cleansing or detoxification is a treatment in alternative medicine which proponents claim rid the body of accumulated harmful substances that exert a negative effect on individual health.’

Professor Alan Boobis, OBE, Toxicologist, Division of Medicine, Imperial College London“says …’the body’s own detoxification systems are remarkably sophisticated and versatile. They have to be, as the natural environment that we evolved in is hostile.

Dr. J.H. Tilden, in his monumental work ‘Toxemia Explained’ says that…
’In the process of tissue building (Metabolism) there is cell building (Anabolism) and cell destruction (Catabolism).
The broken down tissue is toxic and in health – when nerve energy is normal – it is eliminated from the blood as fast as evolved.
When nerve energy is dissipated from any cause – physical or mental excitement or bad habits – the body becomes enervated.
When enervated, elimination is checked, causing a retention of toxin in the blood, or Toxemia.
This accumulation of toxin when once established will continue until nerve energy is restored by removing the causes.
So-called disease is nature’s effort at eliminating the toxin from the blood.
All so-called diseases are crises of Toxemia.’

So - as simple as it can get – most people think that detox means ‘to get rid of toxins’ from the body – whether naturally or by assisted means.

Because all matter is in motion – needs no mover – there is no need to take anything in order to detox or remove the conditions of toxemia.

However, it is necessary to remove any and all conditions of enervation so that the body may conserve its energy and therefore enter into a natural ‘crisis of toxemia’ – the natural and built-in process of healing and repair that is contained within the DNA of each and every cell within all living organisms.

And so therefore – when you get sick, feel unwell, have a cold, the wog, the flu, or whatever you want to call this ‘crisis of toxemia’ – get into bed and rest (physical, mental and digestive) and trust your body to do the correct thing.

All the best in reducing stress – conserving energy - and allowing your body to do it’s thing – restore itself to a state of health and happiness.

What is Disease?

Dis-ease. We know the cause but what is it other than pain, discomfort and a massive money maker?

Florence Nightingale understood clearly the true cause of disease

The Cause of Disease

September 5th 2008 04:36
The cause of disease has long been known by Nature Cure.
Vincent Priessnitz wrote in 1829, "Various cause engender vicious juices(impure blood.)"
We call impure blood Toxaemia, which is poisonous material entering the blood stream because the metabolism hasn't done its job. In a healthy body gets rid of the poisonous tissues as soon as they are created through three different forms of elimination. (the lungs, kidneys and skin

What is Nature Cure?

I am still learning about Nature Cure and life as I've only gotten interested in it properly in the last year or so. I think that the laws and truth behind it are common sense and I want to share them with you.

The philosophy of natural living and natural healing says it's normal to be healthy
