Naomi Robson Leaves Today Tonight

Naomi Robson in a 'Melbourne's Today Tonight' promo in 2006.

As The Age reports it has been a torrid year for Naomi Robson as she has been criticised, ridiculed and deported.

Robson decided to quit as the east coast host of Channel 7s Today Tonight after a decade of presenting the show. It looks as though she will be hosting a new show outside of news and current affairs.

It hasn't been the easiest of years for Naomi Robson, did she deserve the criticism she received?

Meh, today tonight has always been the lowest of the low in terms of current affairs news. Better she save herself humiliation of repotring bullcrap stories and move on to something else.

You have to be amazed at the amount that has gone on this year with Naomi. Dating the underground figure, the outburst of her swearing going to air, the Beaconsfield "make-up van", the deportation from the trip to save the boy from cannibals, not to mention the khaki shirt and lizard.

It's incredible she lasted out the year!

The word is she wants to host a daytime talk show like Oprah. Whether Channel 7 think that's a good idea is another thing entirely.

oh right, well I think there is a good chance of that happening. Channel 7 would love the idea of having an equivalent of oprah I bet... sutpid americanizing TV...

I think she would stink as an Aussie version of Oprah. But she would really do well as a female version of Jerry Springer.
