It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.

Confucius

I am not one who was born in the possession of knowledge; I am one who is fond of antiquity, and earnest in seeking it there.
Confucius

The people may be made to follow a path of action, by may not be made to understand it.

Confucius

When you know a thing, to hold that you know it; and when you do not know a thing, to allow that do not know it. - this is knowledge.

Confucius

A journey of a thousand miles started with a step.

Laozi

A person attempting to travel two roads at once will get nowhere.

During our dreams we do not know we are dreaming. We may even dream of interpreting a dream. Only on waking do we know it was a dream. Only after the great awakening will we realize that this is the great dream.

Taiwan had not belonged to China

June 15th 2008 02:23

The problem between Taiwan and China is one of the biggest assignment in the world, but Taiwan hadn't belonged to the present China untill 17th century. Untill 15th or 16th century Taiwan had been the independent country, and the Japanese pirate, Wakou, came there to occupy the country. The naitive citizens escaped to the mountain. From the end of 16th century to 17th century Holland governed the country, and built their castles. Eventually Chinese army won the battle with Holland in 17th century, and China captured Taiwan. This is why China insists now Taiwan belongs to her country like Taiwan have been in China for about 2000 years

Burning of books and scholars

June 13th 2008 03:10

It is not true that Qin Shi Huang, 259 B.C - 210 B.C, who was the king of the Chinese state of Qin burned the books and scholars of confucianism. At the era many books were written by a lot of citizens in the various way of chinese. Qin Shi Huang tried to unify the language of the books, and removed the books written in inappropriate way. It means the purpose of burning the books was not for the restriction on the philosophy. He even regarded highly of the classical chinese of some books of confucianism

Japan & China

June 9th 2008 14:28
I have many japanese friends, and they don't have the good feelings to the chinese government, but have the chinese friends and like them. Many chinese students visit japan as an exchange student, and the relationships give Japanese the better understanding about china and chinese.

The point is most of Japanese people do not know the chinese history, and simultaneously chinese people do not the japanese one. Maybe that works for the misunderstanding with each other. The reason is, of course, the education by the public, I think
