My Religion

Laying down beneath a Maple tree
The sun warms my face.
A solar powered smile.
The grass moves in the wind,
tickling my arms and legs.
Air conditioning.
Water trickles in our pond,
Bullfrogs and crickets sing to me
in a symphony of nature.
Iced tea from a proper iced tea glass
slides down my throat,
like communion for the soul.
My eyes seek beauty around
this place I have found.
Heaven on earth.
Every muscle relaxes,
every thought ceases.
Freedom.
Salvation.
Drowning out inner Voices,
Thankful to be alive.
This is my church.
This humanity-free,
me-free place,
where creativity roams.
Giving a worshipful stretch,
paying my tithe of relaxation,
here i am.
Loving Myself, believing again.
Praying.
Giving thanks.

Thank you...I actually thought of you as I was writing this...I had read some of your comments on another site a couple of days back and I was impacted by them.
I despise organized religion on principle, but know that there are a lot of wonderful things that do come about as a result of someone finding their religious niche in a church...no doubt. However, I was one that was heavily damaged by it, well into adulthood.
As I reflected on your comments, I kept thinking what my ideal church would be like...
this is it! *smile*
Thanks for the comments, Lovely Lily!

Damn, the holidays owned me this year! Sorry so long since I've been here, but the new look is great. It certainly reflects your core. Stand up & be counted, & my dear, you are indeed counted. U are indeed a "J" woman.

Thank you...I have had great examples my entire life. Hey, just for fun, go read what David put on his site about me. Apparently, I am a lesbian, in love with him, cheating on my husband. Apparently I am the sort of person who is so vile I am going to hell, for being obsessed with him...and a bunch of other stuff...I can't believe how exciting my life is! lol Here I thought I was a married woman with four children with a man I love living a pretty calm life! lol
Come back,
