My Moobs are Becoming Pecs and I am Over One Belt Size Smaller :)
January 27th 2010 09:56
I have kind of being keeping this secret as I have a tendancy to go through fads quicker than I can a Big Mac but I am also one of the most addictive people I have ever known and my new addiction is health and fitness. I have been exercising daily since January the 2nd and am now at the stage where I get the poohs if I do not exercise every single day.
Moobs, for the uneducated, are man boobs - moobs - and mine have gone and become pecs in the last few weeks. My exercise regime and eating plan has revolutionised the way I look and live at life. I no longer wake up tired, eat a bowl of cereal, and then head into work. I now wake up 3hrs before work, drive straight to the beach and then swim 700m's in the pool. I then come home, make a big breakfast of one egg on toast, mushrooms on another slice of toast, coffee with skim milk and check my emails. I then get to work with more energy I have had in years.
When I come home every afternoon I no longer have a nanna nap on the couch for an hour or two then cook something fatty or head to KFC. I now come home, strap on the joggers and a towel in a backpack with a bottle of water and run 1.3k's to Queenscliff Pool, swim another 700m's then power walk the 3k's of entire length of Manly Beach followed by the return home, also a power walk. On every second Sunday I have now also joined a competition sailing team in Pittwater and we are kicking butt, and I am also trying to play a game of tennis every fortnight. This is sucking big time for my websites as I just want to be outdoors but it is much healthier for me and it's Jason time.
I like my food and I like my red wine and over the years I have continued to love these things without any real exercise to properly allow myself this enjoyment. Because of my exercise I can now cook yummy meals at home while considering fat content and as opposed to a bottle of red every few nights I now have a glass of red wine while cooking my dinner.
My meals at night are now consisting of something protien. For example I am now cooking a piece of perch (fish) and having a salad of spinach leaves, baby beets, capsicum and cheese as my side. And I LOVE this food. My lunches of work used to consist of at least 3 takeaway meals every single week and make my own the other 3 days. My lunch meals are now either a wrap I make or sandwich (wholegrain) containing either tuna or chicken breast, cheese, capsicum, mushrooms and sometimes tomato. I have also gone from two sandwiches to one deleicious one. Not only is this helping me lose weight but it is saving me a fortune!
The good news is I am now no longer a size 34" pants - I am now back into my 32" pants and am comfortably wearing medium shirts again and feeling great about my body. My belts are all now having a previously unreachable notch as the place to buckle into. It is amazing and something I never felt possible. It is also so good for the ego and soul to have people saying to you that you look so much thinner "we can tell, you can see it in your face", "how are you doing it" etc make you feel much better than you would think. This and the exercise and some Vit D from the sun and the feelings of sand below your toes every day while walking in the salt air with hot people around is priceless.
I have certain inspiration and assistance. Firstly big thanks go to Sammy, one of my best mates who is much younger and much hotter than me who is a fitness fanatic who plays every sport imaginable and loses weight by thinking about it. He is my verbal trainer and discusses things with me when I see him. This week he is trying to get me to start clap push ups - by throwing a clap with both hands in when I reach the top of the push up. Sometimes I just think he is trying to kill me
But I know he is pushing me to get the most out of me that I can. The other person is Carrie, another of my besties who is also occasionally my partner in crime and exercise partner (although she definately does not need to exercise to lose weight). She is doing similar exercises as myself and offers me much ego and soul boosting. Love you guys both so much!!
My other inspiration is what I see, and occasionally lust after
, while exercising on the beach. There are similar photos of these people throughout this article. These are the tight bodied young people I see exercising their butts off on the beach and doing it all so naturally and looking so amazing. I see these people when doing my laps at 6am every morning or my arvo routine every afternoon and they are my goal. To look like them, fit into their community and to be as buff enough to date one of them
There is one other aspect that is very cool about all this exercise - there is an entirely different community of people out there that look after themselves physically and also mentally and challenge themselves daily. These people reap the rewards for their efforts and recently I have started getting their secret wink and welcome to this new lfestyle.

Gratz on the Tony Ferguson - I think you had a FB update about it yesterday - that is cool.
Ouch on the back - best of luck in achieving it for your health and pain. My stepdad is in a similar situation - major back issues and a larger sized stomach put a lot of pressure on him and doctors plus my mum are trying to get him to lose weight.
My exercise is a lot less hardcore than it sounds. I am just elevating the heart rate for two hours every day. I could push myself harder but while Sam is there pushing and motivating me his biggest advice is just persistance. Plus I never thought I would enjoy being on the beach every day.
