Lifes little slices - by charliesgirl_992000

"My day so far!"

June 15th 2007 23:03
I got a little done on my list of "Want to get done." I made up a bucket of hot amonia water, scrubbed the cover to the hot tub.Looks a "LITTLE" better but not as good as i had wished. Thanks to the raw egg fight me and my children had last summer. It was alot of fun, but wasn't as fun once i saw that it ate the cover to the hot tub and paint off the house. <smiles> Good thing my husband is a kid at heart like i am or i may have been in a little trouble. <smirks> When he came home and saw, he asked what happened. Shook his head and laughed. <winks> It's not soo bad now, just a little faded in the spots where the yoke had hit. The rest of the lid just doesn't seem to come as clean anymore from being five or so years old. Still, it does look better.

Next i got on my hands and knees with a toothbrush and started scrubbing the line of algea that had worked its way onto the bottem of the hot tub frame and deck just around the edges. That came off pretty well and after some rinses of fresh water, doesn't look too bad. I still have to scrub the entire rest of this deck but i think i may get the rest of taht done tonight or tomarow. Kaitlyn only works until four tomarow so i may wait to do it with her.It would probably be more fun.
I have the stareo on. I ate some left over from what hubby had cooked for lunch. I would have drank a slim fast but my work had zapped my energy and i was running on empty.
After eating i did 150 crunches. "go me!!" I hadn't done them in two days. before that i had done 150 for my first time of doing them in awhile and OMG it killed my muscles. <smiles> So a break was needed.
Well, Kaitlyn just called and so far no one wants to switch her days for next weekend when we have guest. She switches for them, so we both thought maybe they would, but nope, people just don't aways return favors. It may be her last night. Or she may work until Sunday. <shrugs> It's been interfeiring anyhow. and probably wasn't perfect timing for a job. When Krystina gets back and after our summer trips would be better. The horses, responsabilities at home, fun things we'd like to do, and a whole list of things are being neglected because of that job. On top of that she is only getting three days a week. A check of only a hundred and like twenty five every two weeks. It's just not worth it. If we put more time in at home businesses we could probably make that up easily. She gets allowances for animal care thats about that if not more, just staying at home.

She's calling one last friend now to see if they will switch. She said "Mom, i think i'm just gona quiet anyway." she hates it there now. Most of the time she has to run the whole front line alone, and she's not worked very many days. She said the manager gripes if she can't get drinks, while also taking grouchy, impatient costumers orders at the same time. Then the cook is slower on food, so the people stand there mad at her. She just apolagizes but they still are demanding. Yep, she's seen the meaner, always in a hurry side of people. This McDonalds is tight on employees. Not haveing enough to cover shifts. People are always quiting. Even my daughter Krystina who can take ALOT of crap walked off the job. If she did, i knew there would be problems.
Working from home is the best way. I need to get working on crafts again. My friend thats comming was sooo bummed when she found out i was in business with someone else. Saying she wished she would have caught me first. She has many of the same dreams i do. The other business fell through and after that i slacked up for a but, switching focus to the non profit. Maybe it's time to start deviding my time. She crafts too and makes jewlery. She's bring some with her for us to make together. I know she sells some stuff alreay, on a website i Believe, but she wants to do fairs, and open a store someday. She's only three hours away. I think i do better as a little more of a leader role isntead of a follower. Or atleast an even role. I started a non profit in under a year. Maybe it's not out there where people know about it but to build the ideas , get incorporated, and get as many newsletters out as i have, pluss all the crosses i have made, is huge.
In a bit i'll share some of my favorite pieces from my craft collection. I can't wait to show Denise. She has only seen pictures so far.
ok, i'm off to do some pics and share some of what i have done so far.

Quite the busy little beaver there.

I understand people quitting jobs, I thought slavery had been banned, but there you are.

After you've finished at your place, come start on mine.

Enjoy your friend's visit, Kaitlyn will find something else, but how disappointing for her.

Love to all,

katyzzz

Working from home can be really nice, and it sounds like you've a nice little business underway

My mum started her little *home business* in baking (a small selection of cakes) several years ago...and loves it! It keeps her busy and she loves the ongoing interaction she has with the outside world. She's not making millions but I think it's the fact that she is able to contribute that keeps her going...and going...

Keep on going, Tammy

Katyzzz, Thanks for the suport!! It wouldn't be such a big deal but my friends daughter Tabitha has been Kaitlyn pen pal for like three or more years and they have NEVER met. "Happy day!!"
I think these work places should be a little more understandable about kids getting their first job. Kaitlyn is a super hard worker and a fast worker at that. It seems these places want wayyy more then what they are paying for. Another big deal is, kids taht arent the boss acting like they are. Bossing others around, being rude, and the such.
"I'll let her decide what to do." "We'll see!!"
hugs, Tammy

Lara, "That sounds like a fun job for your mum!!" I LOVE the prospect of working when you want, and taking breaks when you want. "If i feel like going off fishing for a bit, or a dip in the pool, i'd LOVE to be able to do that."
I can't wait to talk to my friend. Show her and her mom what i have and see where things go.
Thanks for stopping in!! Tammy
