A friend of mine had a parent of hers pass away and it got me thinking. Here I am, in the middle of nowhere, not even close to a single family member. And there my mom is, in the same boat but further away from me than the rest of the family. What is going to happen if something happens to her and I can't be there? She's already been in the hospital since my move and there was nothing I could do, not even make a trip up there to see her.

So I want to say something, a keepsake of sorts, so that not only she knows how I feel but she can keep it with her.

Growing up, we were not the greatest mom/daughter team. We butted heads, said a lot that shouldn't have been said, and I did stuff that shouldn't have been done. But now that I have grown and have a family of my own, I see the error of my ways and can now call myself not only an adult, but a woman. But I would be none of that if it weren't for you. You are my strength, when I'm weak. You are my path when I am lost. You are my wisdom when my brain is fried. When I need a laugh, you're full of giggles. When I need a shoulder, you have the tissue. You are my world. You are my best friend. I thank God for giving me such a wonderful mother because without you, I wouldn't be me.

Tis The Season...

What Is the worst thing you can think of when living in an older house...let's say more than 100 years old? What's the worst that comes to my mind? Well other than the fact that it has no heating or air conditioning, the worst thing that I have come across is the infestation of BUGS!!

We've only lived here, in the boonies, for a little over a year. I was so excited to be in a new place, new town, new everything. But when Spring came, I was in for a MAJOR shock!! All of a sudden we were getting more and more spiders and sugar ants and flies in the house!! No matter how clean I kept the place or how much spray we put on them...no matter what we did, they came. But by Summer it was worse!! In every little cabinet or corner, there the spiders sat. My counter tops were completely covered in ants, and the flies were so bad that no matter how much swatting we did or traps we hung up, you were almost scared to breathe because they'd fly up your nose. I actually woke up one afternoon from a nap and a fly was in my nose!!

Now I know that this all sounds so funny, but it really is very annoying and made me feel like I'm a pig because of how my house got over run by these bastards!! Now here it is, almost Spring again. A few days ago I took a shower, and because I'm so used to looking up at the ceiling to see if I have any "watchers" (spiders), I was greeted by two...YES, two spiders were already on the ceiling!! And then last night, I went to take a drink of my soda which had been sitting out for more than an hour. Would you like to know what I was greeted by? A sugar ant...yes, already. I'm NOT excited!! If you haven't guessed by now, I'm a little scared of spiders. I don't care WHAT kind they are and how harmless they are, I don't care for them and wish God created something different than those suckers.

The whole point to this is the fact that Winter was just not long enough and my daily battles are approaching. If you are wondering if I've ever had to go through this before, no, I haven't. I've dealt with an occasional spider and a few flies, but not hoards of them at once. Throw in the dang sugar ants and I've got myself a party of insects that don't want to go home. I'm getting the confetti ready.

I'm starting this blog because I have my moments of just wanting to say something but don't really have anyone to talk to. Whether it be how my day went, or just random thoughts that seem to possess my mind. I'm a thinker and I babble...what more could you ask for? LoL!!

I hope you are ready...cause you are about to enter into MY world.
