MUSINGS ON GANDHI'S BIRTHDAY!

October 3rd 2011 12:16
2nd of October is the birth anniversary of MAHATMA GANDHI-THE FATHER OF THE INDIAN NATION!
Gandhi needs no introduction today. He was one of the most influencial personalities of the 20th century who hd left a very deep and indelible imprints on the world-psyche.He was and still,is the most popular and revered indian worldwide.
Gandhi was born in the coastal province of india:GUJRAT in 1869.He was relatively well-off and he went to England to study Law.He in the capacity of a lawyer went to South Africa to take up a case of one wealthy Gujrati businessman.
South Africa proved a kind of learning-laboratory for him as he got first hand experience of the racial-discrimination and the colonial psychology of the Britishers. He fought against the various inhuman principles and practices.
He returned back india in 1915 and toured the country, got his own impression of the then British-india and mobilized masses to speak out loud and clear against the injustice. He was a pacifist and opposed all war and strife. He discovered a new instrument or way to fight against colonialism and that was-THE CONCEPT OF NON-VIOLENCE!
MAHATMA GANDHI was a staunch supporter of women's rights, the idea of equality and justice. He was a giant symbol of Truth,Honesty,Non-violence,Se lfless service to the mankind and many other divine qualities.

Gandhi worked tirelessly all through his life for the upliftment of the poor n downtrodden populace, women and children.
GANDHI WAS AN ADVOCATE OF PEACE AND HARMONY.
He was a mass-leader.He played the most crucial role in the indian national movement.
Gandhi had written two letters to ADOLF HITLER imploring him to avert the second world war. . . .unfortunately those mails didn't reach Hitler.
Gandhi was in the longlist of The NOBEL-PEACE-PRIZE-COMMITTEE four times:the last being posthumously. . . .but,he could not get through it. .GANDHI LIKE PERSON DOES NOT NEED ANY PRIZE. . .he was above such considerations. And the Nobel-committee must have been lamenting for not including Gandhi. . .

Gandhi is on the favourite list of the usa-president,B.OBAMA.
UN CELEBRATES THE 2OCT AS THE INTERNATIONAL-DAY-OF-NON-VIOL ENCE!

Sadly,GANDHI IS NOT FOLLOWED IN PRACTICE IN HIS OWN COUNTRY:INDIA.
Indian politics today is everything except Gandhian principles!
IT SEEMS THAT INDIANS ARE JUST DOING A RITUAL EVERY YEAR ON THE BIRTHDAY OF GANDHI.

THE RELEVANCE OF GANDHI IS MORE TODAY THAN EVER BEFORE IN THIS WAR AND STRIFE-TORN WORLD OF OURS!
Hopefully, the people of india and the world must redeem the values Gandhi stood for. . .

A Happy birthday to M.K.GANDHI OR BAPU(father). . .Your text goes here
