Inception is Matrix without the leather

Sorry for the lack of posts......This may be my last one because I don't know if anyone is reading this. Appreciate any comments otherwise I may have to create my own blog.
Anyway I have been watching movies such as Twilight: Eclipse (for Taylor, RP fans), Killers (OK- Ugly Truth was funnier) and Knight & Day (trailer was better) but those are passe.
So yes Inception is the movie everyone is currently talking about. I must say I was looking forward to this movie and had high expectations especially with everyone saying this is the 'next new Matrix' movie.
I have to say Chris Nolan had me thinking throughout the movie to the point that i started have a headache ( and fell asleep for a few minutes lol missing a critical point in the plot) Thank gosh I didn't watch this in IMAX LOL
Don't go into this movie expecting alot of creative time warp action ala Matrix with slow mo 360 degree avoiding the bullet time scenes (though there was slow-mo & in particular a cool fighting scene with Joseph Gordon Levitt rolling around in the hallway as though he were in a barrel and jumping off the wall zero gravity)
The action & settings here reminded me of Dark Knight with most taking on the streets. It is more REAL and gritty not fantasy based like the Matrix which is good. Chris is getting good at that but I expected to be thrown more curveballs and surprises apart from the one scene of the hallway barrel.
Chris sure knows how to take a surreal concept like dreams and make it relevant in the real world though I think he was more successful with Batman than this one which is an original story. But hey who's to say it's a tough job for anyone to explain clearly the complexities and the subconscious of the human mind in 2 & a half hours. But I understood enough to go with the journey of this movie though I wish my dreams were that vivid in detail and action packed that I would remember it. (Dream within a dream within a dream within a dream......... Did I lose anyone? Who is dreaming?) For that I applaud Chris who wrote the screenplay and directed the movie.
You may notice a few familiar faces from Nolan's Batman movies - Michael Caine, Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy. They were good supporting players to Leonardo DiCaprio's spy character. He is looking more grown up and grumpy but couldn't get my head around him being a dad/husband. I still see him as the kid from Titanic and didn't buy into his relationship with Marion Cotillard who plays his wife.
This is worth seeing again to catch on any missing points but if there was a sequel I wish they would answer why it is easier to go back dreaming nightmares than go back to a good dream....... Explain that I dare you Chris!
Can't wait for Batman 3. Hire Joseph- He will be hot as the Riddler!!!!
