More questions about this crazy NFL season.
The Eagles. If you listened to the talking heads the Eagles had added so much talent they were superbowl champions before a pass was thrown. So why are they mid pack in the NFC? And dont tell me it's about Vick being injured. They were Mid pack with Mike Vick starting.
Has Andy Reid worn out his welcome in Philly?
Jacksonville (this one is going to hurt)
Moving up in the draft to grab Blaine Gabbot was a good move, releasing David Gerrard just before the first regular season game and starting Luke McCown who is a career back up at best wasn't a good move. David could have mentored Blaine, sure he's no superstar but he could have given the kid some time to learn the NFL style of offence.
I think the Jags have drafted well in the last few years since GM Gene Smith took over personnel.
I'm sorry but the blame for why the Jags are so woeful this year goes to one man, sorry Jack but this is on you. Jack Del Rio is not going to take this team anywhere but downwards. My question is, How long can this team stay in Jacksonville with a losing record, black outs and coaching that is at best, CFL level?
I've ruined my good mood by talking about my team. So if I'm overly harsh from here on I apologise.
New England, the Pats offence is about four people. Tom Brady of course, plus his two tight ends. Gronkowski and Hernandez are real weapons. And of course the little guy. The slot reciever. You know who i mean. The guy Miami let go. The guy who's the leading reciever again this season. Wes Welker. They bring in Ocho Sucko and he does nothing. They bring in Albert Hainsworth. And he's already been cut. The Patriots have so much talent already but when they try to add star power they get fails. So here's the question.
Is Bill Belichick the GM hurting Bill Belichick the head coach?
(I wrote this two days ago. Since then Jacksonville have fired Jack Del Rio and the team has been sold to a new owner)
I've been gone a while, my internet connection had a fit and then just for kicks my hard drive had a meltdown. Thankfully I'm back online.
So I'm gonna skip past all my preseason team talk for obvious reasons.
I have many questions about this season so far.
Can the Pack go undefeated? in my opinion the only thing that could stop them is resting their starters. They are by a distance the class of the NFL right now. Miami beware.
Are the Colts going to stay on the "suck for Luck" train?. (Which personally drives me crazy. I mean they have Peyton Manning for all these years and as soon as he gets injured, they tank the whole season to get possibly the most NFL ready QB to come out of the draft in a decade. As a Jags fan this upsets me)
San Fran, who saw the 9'ers as a powerhouse this season? certainly not me yet they have the 2'nd best record in the NFC. Are they for real or is this all about a soft schedule?.
Baltimore, How exaxtly does a team with this much talent lose to both the Jags and the Seahawks? Is Joe Flacco the real deal or is he hurting his team?
I got another one pretty much in the same vein as my last question.
The Jets, what the hell?
they have so much talent, they have the defence to shut any team down. They have the offence to take advantage of any weakness. Its all about Mark Sanchez. The Sanchise just hasn't progressed as expected, so as I asked earlier about Flacco, is Sanchez the reason the Jets can't seem to win the games they are supposed to?.
Timothy Richard Tebow. How are the Bronco's winning with this guy under center? Don't talk to me about charisma and leadership. He can't throw the ball from here to there. Their defence is playing well but how do you win with those kind of stats from the leader of your offence?
The Texans, you got to feel for that team and their fans, this was their season and now Matt Schaub's foot injury puts it all in doubt. They play in a very weak AFC south so will easily make the play offs but can they still make an impact without their star under center?
I have many more questions. So I'll carry this on later. For now it's good to be back and blogging again.
Free agency is ready to roll.
This years free agency is all about calculated risk. Without the usual weeks of time to run work outs and interviews, teams are going to be trying to find players they think can make an impact without the security blanket of checking them out first.
This is going to be a hectic time for owners, GM's and players.
I for one am fascinated to see how it plays out.
I'll be looking through the free agents and giving you an idea where they might fit best in the next couple of days.
I'm just glad to say...at last, Football is back!
There has been a huge increase in interest in American sports all the way across the pond in the last few years.
I'm a fan and it is my hope to entertain and give you a little insight into my personal love affair with American sports.
