Moving along....

Yes, I know. It's been some time since I last wrote on my blog. And just because we've now moved in doesn't mean I want to stop as I've discovered there is even more to do.
There are still little bits our builder has to finish before we can honestly say the house is completely done...but not even counting that, there are other plans we have in the pipeline making this house a lifelong project.
Mark's priority has been getting the grass to grow back as it was just a layer of dirt (and builders rubbish) the day we moved in. It's now lush enough to actually have to mow on a weekly basis, thanks to some pretty dramatic hot weather in these here parts.
We contemplated buying turf but thought we'd try a cheaper alternative by spreading the grass cuttings on the front lawn and see what would happen. Still patchy but not looking too bad.
Thanks to Mark's parents and a few cuttings we have also initiated the first attempts at a front garden. My ideal is to have a back yard vege garden and compost heap, which is probably a very ambitious project for this brown thumb but, hey, if you never try, you 'll never succceed....or fail, but where's the fun in that?
