Monitoring Airline Employees
September 17th 2009 21:53
Now 99.9% of airline employees are decent and honest, and have undergone vigorous screening to give them security clearance. Still there are dishonest individuals that will compromise airport security and be bought for a buck. Some people will do anything for monetary gain, even though they know they may be eventually caught.
I remember many a drug bust that involved airline employees that were part of an elaborate operation...multi-million dollar operation! The now extinct Eastern comes to mind in my area. Drug smuggling on airlines is a problem, because in this economy even good people can turn bad. Smuggling drugs can mean that other 'things' can be smuggled.
Most heard about a US Airways employee who smuggled a gun past security for a friend. Since 9/11 many similar stupid incidences have occurred in some way or similarity. Make no mistake that these incidences make the argument real that people who hold job involving security should be replaced every five years.
Today it is American Airlines that is the focus of an anti-drug swoop. Although wrestling on TV is fake, the wrestler known as the Million Dollar Man said that every man has his price. That means that if the price is right, anyone can be bought.
