Mona Lisa and her eyebrows

The first thing I noticed when I saw the painting by Leonardo Da Vinci of the Mona Lisa, was that this chick didn’t have any eyebrows.
I wondered for days if Da Vinci did this on purpose, or perhaps he forgot to add them. If he did it on purpose, then what would be the point of painting a woman without any eyebrows? Perhaps Mona Lisa wasn’t a real person and she was just an invention of Da Vinci’s extraordinary imagination. Or maybe the Mona Lisa is a combination of many woman put together. I suppose that theory could be plausible, for the fact that Da Vinci idealised woman hood.
Yet, this theory still didn’t satisfy me because it didn’t answer my question as to why she is painted without eyebrows. I never had access to the internet at the time when I pondered this question so I couldn’t really google my query.
Never did it occur to me that this was the fashion back then and that it was actually quite common for women to pluck and shave their eyebrows. Society says that history always repeats itself so maybe in twenty years time we will all be walking around without any eyebrows.

She has no eyebrows!! Now i bet you never knew that.
