Miracle of the Week - The Miracle of family
March 1st 2011 09:08
As a mother myself, I often wonder how we do it. Honestly we work, we clean, we are the local taxi service, we are the local bank and we are the local social worker.
As a mother of 5 boys I can tell you life is exciting.
One day we had terrible rain and the backyard flooded. When I was trying to get the kids in the car and over the puddles I had a bright idea. I asked my youngest to get his bogey board that was beside the car.
He asked why....
I explained if we sat the bogey board over the puddle we could use it as a stepping stone to make sure our shoes didn't get wet. The kids thought this was great, they all got to the car without getting anything wet.
I watched the kids step on this bogey board and thought that was a good idea, so I proceeded to step on the bogey board.
Can you imagine my surprise when my foot slid and I landed on my back side in the puddle. Well the kids thought it was fantastic, they were laughing and thought it was extremely funny.
I finally got them to school however they were late due to me changing my clothes. Even to this day my boys tell their friends mum loves nothing better than riding a bogey board round the yard.
Its a fond memory of how much fun can come from having kids, they make you laugh, they make you cry and its a pleasure watching them grow and finding their place in the world.
If people ask me how I cope with 5 kids I often say, I am not here to live their life, I am here to guide them.
