The one movie out there that changed my life: CLERKS
I loved everything about it. The fact it was Black and White the enormous Dialogue and low budget. Then came my love of Kevin Smith i would wait for each one to come out and loved them all. My favourite is of course Clerks, the one that stays in my DVD player as my go to Movie is Mallrats. Dogma makes me take a different view on religion and I simply love silent Bobs speil in Chasing Amy and Jay and Silent Bob strikes back, well it had to be made and its good for a laugh.
what does everyone else out there think? do share i would love to have a discussion
Forgive me if most of my posts are about the 80's but I am a child of the 80's and love to ponder all things 80's especially film.
Today i have been pondering the Two Coreys after watching their TV show 'The Two Corey's"
Do people out there have a favouritre Corey? Mine was always Haim. I loved him. License to Drive was my favourite Haim film and I always thought he would have been a good Mikey in the Goonies. But now Im sad. My childhood memories of loving Haim have been overshadowed by this sad sorry imposter who has taken over lovable Haim.
Does anyone else out there share my view or am I standing on my own with this one?
I was at playgroup the other day and one of the mums had shown her child the movie ‘Back to the Future 3’ the one with the train as he loves trains. When I told her I loved those movies and began to tell her about my favourites in order- the 2nd, 1st then the 3rd- she stopped me before I could finish to tell me she hasn’t even seen them. I stood mouth dropped looking for words. I mean this is a woman, a mother; a child of the 80’s older than me. How can this happen I ask? Is it me, or are there others out there who have not grown up with the Delorian, skateboards, hover boards and the like?
So after this little incident it made me wonder about what are the top 5 movies of the 80’s? Without even a second thought is the Breakfast Club- that movie changed my life- and pretty much anything John Hughes as next on my list is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. I know I used to watch that movie and wish I had his life. Next, Lost Boys and the Two Corey’s. I’m sure everyone had their favourite but mine was always Haim until I saw the TV show doco and what a sad life it has been for him, I was shattered when I saw him. It ruined my child hood memories of loving him. And of course the Goonies, this was a movie I can not wait to introduce to my kids. Growing up I always dreamt of being a Goonie and what it would be like and was so envious of these kids and their friendship. And lastly Im going to put John Cusack Movies in to one. As he made just about every teenage 80’s movies out there. Say Anything is pivotal with the stereo over his head being one of the greatest scenes of the 80’s. Better Off Dead. I used to go in to the Video shop and always see the cover; he had cotton buds coming out of every opening on his face. I never saw it til years later but always saw the faded copy in the shop. The list could go on and on and I’m sure everyone has their own lists, but sometimes it’s nice to sit and ponder these things on a quiet day in the office
