This is one show not to be missed!
Opening a few weeks ago, the wonderful Cirque de Soleil has taken on the King of Pop with their new production Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour. Using the music and creative vision of Michael Jackson along with their brilliant acrobatic performance style, Cirque de Soleil has created a concert experience that seems to be only second to the man himself!
Directed by the wonderful Jamie King (who has directed shows for Madonna, Britney Spears and Rihanna), the show is broken up into acts of which different choreographers, some of whom worked with Michael, have created a celebration of Michael’s life and recreated some of his career highlights.

As with the previous Cirque du Soleil shows along the same line (2006s Love, featuring the music of The Beatles and 2010s Viva Elvis, featuring the music of Elvis Presley), a soundtrack album will be released to coincide with the show. The show features over 40 of Michael’s original recordings, which have been developed and remixed by producer Kevin Antunes (who has previously worked with Justin Timberlake and Rihanna) using the original multi-track master recordings, although not all of these will be released on the albums.
The album Michael Jackson: Immortal will be released as both a 1 disc version and 2 disc Deluxe Edition, hitting stores in Australia on November 18, 2011.

To promote the album, the “Immortal Megamix” has been released and I must say that it really well produced and mixed and I’m sure that you’ll start hearing this in clubs. Currently touring North America, where it will play dates for about two years, Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour will then continue on to Europe and then rest of the world. Once the show has finished touring North America, a resident show will open at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino located in Las Vegas. I personally can not wait to see this show, so let me put the call out that it MUST come to Australia!
