The Orble mentoring program allows experienced bloggers to help
train, support, motivate, and recruit new Orble bloggers.
Mentors should be able to give blogging advice and answer any questions that the bloggers they are mentoring (students) may have in regards to blogging style or the technical aspects of using Orble.
Mentors should also provide the all important motivation and support that new bloggers need to keep going through the first six months while they are building up a decent readership. Orble staff will always still be on hand if a mentor needs help in any way.
In return for their efforts mentors are given a 10% share of any advertising revenue that their students generate. Note that this does not effect the commission of new bloggers who are mentored, they still receive a 50% advertising commission.
To foster a culture of mentoring, mentors will also receive a 5% commission from any bloggers that their students mentor in the future, as well as 5% of any students that their student's students mentor.
This means that if you mentored 10 bloggers, and they each mentored 10 bloggers, who each also mentored 10 bloggers then it would be the same as you writing 112 blogs yourself in terms of commission. Obviously that would be quite an accomplishment however it serves to illustrate the point.
Any Orble blogger can become a mentor. For a new blogger to be registered as a student they need to provide their prospective mentor's Orble login email when they register. It cannot be done retrospectively. If you would like a particular blogger to mentor you send them a message before you register (you can do so from their profile page) to see if they would be interested. As usual if you have any problems or questions please contact us.
A few rules:
In order to receive a mentor's commission you must be an active blogger (at least one quality post in the last month) and your students must also be active bloggers.
If a blog is sold the mentor commissions lapse.
You cannot mentor yourself under a different name. Note that each Orble account must use a unique AdSense ID.
As a mentor you must be available to answer your student's questions and offer them advice. It is an active role, you cannot simply recruit and forget.
How to become a Mentor:
1) Blog on Orble for while until you are confident that you know what you are doing and could properly advise a new blogger.
2) Recruit a new blogger or bloggers. A good way to do this is to send out an email to people who may be interested (see below).
3) When your prospective student registers, make sure they enter your email address in the Mentor Email field.
4) Provide training, support, and motivation to your new student to help them create a successful blog!
Example Emails:
Here are a few example emails which you could send to people to find new recruits to mentor. Obviously these are just suggestions and you should alter to taste. You may prefer to just chat to people to see if they are interested in writing a blog rather than send an email, which can be more effective.
If you come up with any good or humorous emails which you have used to recruit people send them to support@orble.com so I can share them :)
