England beat Pakistan with consummate ease on the third day of the tournament to leave the ghosts of their Netherlands' loss way behind them. In the process, theur also reached the second round, ensuring that the last game in their group will decide between Pakistan and Holland who goes through.
Batting first, the hosts piled on an unexpected 185/5 in their twenty overs, thanks to the comeback man, Kevin Pietersen's 38-ball 58.
There were contributions from others as wellwith the man in touch, Luke Wright getting 34 and Owais Shah scoring one less.
In reply, Pakistan never looked like they were in hunt, and capitualted to 137 in theri twenty overs, with only their skipper Younis Khan getting to an unbeaten 46.
Pakistan will have to convincingly beat Holland to get to the second round of the tournament.
