Manon: my descent into manhood

After 23 years, five months and five days, it's finally going to happen. I will finally complete my descent into manhood.
Seven seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and five and a half of Gilmore Girls (and counting), years of Queer theory and Feminist studies, high school mates coming out and my father dying did not do the trick.
Tonight, I will see 'Manon' at the Sydney Opera House with my girlfriend of 11 months.
Take heart, you girly men, for the mighty is about to fall. There is hope for you with your piss-weak VB, mother-bought rubber thongs, feigned stoicism and husky grunts from chapped lips.
The football fairy, the casual ballroom dancer, smooth-talking magnificently manly Macarena maniac will finally meet his match in 'Manon'.
Though, it is the manliest ballet of them all. Or so she told me. Ballet is the bear in the little car, right?
