Mankind's Progression Forward Backwards
October 14th 2007 19:29
How far we have come in the last century bewilders me. When I sit and ponder and begin to fathom this ever twisting snowball effect I can barely begin to imagine where we could possibly be heading. I was never a religious person; actually I used to think it was the sole creator of conflict, eventually wars. What confuses me the most about man kinds’ progression is the fact that we still see many things the same way we did hundreds of years ago.
The factors that affect the decision to better ourselves are the issues we dealt with first. Those in power, elected or dictated, have specific objectives at hand. They may have begun their political or judicial journey with a good heart on their sleeve, but as they continued through the webs of greed, power and success, it was not long before they began wearing their infected sleeves, on their hearts.
People aren’t born evil!
It is the decisions they make in life which lead them to the wrong paths. Why do we all preach peace, but keep hearing that war is imminent? Why is the indigenous mans’ battle with extinction similar to that of thousands of our planet’s beautiful species of flora and fauna? What gives us the right to do with people, and our environment as we please and still convict others, of committing certain measures that may not suit our livelihoods? Each is affected in various ways depending on their surrounding environments. Cultures and belief rise from the many lands and often cross paths without battle. It is the individual gain that embraces the destruction of one entity, for the creation of another inturn causing the friction for one mans’ desire to control.
“Thee, who have not sinned, cast thee first stone!” Which perfect soul has earned the right to judge another? To make the situation better for themselves and hence, worse for the common man, a deceitful yet intelligent plan was devised to disperse the guilt associated with convicting someone. It was ruled compulsory for ordinary, everyday people, to congregate as a panel of jury members, and unanimously cast their own stones upon their peers. The pressure was lifted from the law makers of the time, allocating untrained, emotionally reactive people the power of judgment based upon facts laid out by the better man on the day.
Mohammed Dawood, Abu-Muslim Australii, David Hicks, they are all one and the same person. I am sure you have heard of him. Arrested, seen as an immense threat and a terrorist to the allies, only to come out a victim, of superpower bullying and propaganda in order to achieve strategic objectives to gain a financial benefit from tragic circumstances. An attempt to find a path to enlightenment, can still mean that it is achieved throughout the turns of events and until he is released he may understand why. Why was a covert, Navy Seals operation not launched to disrupt this regime, which they helped train and develop, and get to the root of the problem? In and out without as much as a peep, attain their target and achieve some of their so called goals. This is because the roots have western fingerprints all over them and there were bigger objectives than the distractions placed right in front of our eyes.
Nothing is as simple as it is on paper. People’s hearts can not be measured and their passion can not be bottled. People in various situations can be pushed too far and erupt, even volcanoes erupt unexpectedly. To the naked untrained eye, for no reason, maybe, but to the eye that studies the ocean’s movement in relation to the moon and the activities of the tectonic plates, this can seem textbook.
We are shown figures, some call them facts, but it has been sitting in front of our eyes since the library was born, Non-fiction. Meaning that the majority of the context was fiction, relate the books of the library to the pens of history and you have a number of made up stories with unknown intentions making up the history of our very existence.
Who would have thought there would come a time where you couldn’t even, believe what you see? A time of marketing treachery and consumerist obesity, to such an extent that only 4 per cent of the world’s money is even in cash. Think about that fact for a second. There are hundreds, of trillions, of “dollars”, that are in fact, intangible and at a point where over half the country continues to live with huge credit debts. It, which drives our very livelihoods and constitutes the cogs of today’s society, the mass of money, is not real. Not like a drought, or a flood, or a fire for that matter, but the preponderance of the world’s wealth is visible only via a monitor.
Where do we attain the majority of our information, our knowledge and skills? A curriculum set and written by a specific group of people, predominantly male, in order to guide us through the learning curves of this set life. If we preach tolerance, and the celebration of difference, how can we teach the masses with one format?
Crime in correlation to Terrorism is bred through struggle. An avenue for acknowledgement of a number of underlying issues is often found in the majority of these cases. There are the unprecedented, out of the blue cases but the majorities are caused by external factors. Poverty vs. Oppression; Power vs. Education being made unattainable. These are not excuses, merely underpinning affects, collaborating to form the evolvement of these acts of criminal behaviour. If the history books were written by the losers of battles we most definitely would dislike the winners depicted. In many cases, it was US. Funny, it is the same letters as the Earth’s sole biggest problem maker too.
