Manila Traffic
Manila Traffic is Terrible!
I know it's already a fact, but it's never become this stressful to me before because I never traversed EDSA (the main road traversing Metro Manila) regularly especially not on rush hours.
Now that I've been working in Makati, I have to travel from far north (Quezon city) all the way to Makati.
Few people will understand what I'm talking about as this isn't in Australia
but let me give you an idea.
From my house to the office building, it's a distance of about let's say 12kms. Approximately. Now, if I'm traveling at a speed of 60kph, I should get there in 12-15minutes. Basic mathematics.
If I leave early, say around 615am (my work's supposed to start at 8am!), I get to Makati at approximately 30minutes. That would be fine with me, except I'm at work more than an hour before anyone opens the office!
If I leave at 7am however, it'll take me an hour to get there! can you believe that?! a 12km difference and it takes me an hour to get there.
Now going home is another story. The past 2 days it's been taking me an hour to get home -- regardless of what time I leave! Two weeks ago, if I leave about 4pm, I'd get home in 30 minutes. today I even left at 230pm, I got home at past 330!
Worse, I was in traffic for 50 minutes from Makati to the Ortigas flyover, that should be about half of my travel. Right after the bridge/flyover, I got home in 12minutes!
How crazy is that?!
Ugh! I studied, worked and even partied at places about 15-30 minutes away from the house so I never was used to this kind of traffic --- especially when I'm the one driving
