Manchester United bidding for Neymar!!

July 5th 2011 13:34
It is believed that Sir Alex Ferguson has told his agents to enter the race to sign Brazilian Wonderkid Neymar following rumours about an imminent Dimitar Berbatov's transfer away from the English Champions.
Both Real Madrid and Chelsea have been closely linked with the Brazilian striker in teh last couple of weeks with a reported amount of around $50m being put on the table. But so far, the deal has not yet been concluded with any of the two clubs and it is believed that the new rich owners of Paris Saint Germain are also closely monitoring the situation and are preparing to make a $100m for the 18 year old Brazilian striker who won the Copa Libertadores recently with his home club Santos FC. Another promising youngster namely midfielder Ganso is also highly praised of with Italian Giants AC Milan ready to make a $30m swoop for the midfielder.
But it is believed that both players are reluctant to leave Santos FC not at least till the end of December 2011 where they will play in the World Club Champions with the prestige of meeting Barcelona. Thye would really very much want to have a go at the Barca side with their great Argentinian enemy, current best player of the world, Lionel Messi.
But Sir Alex has now bring a new twist to the story with his current believed interest in the striker. With the recent failure and delays in signing either W. Sneijder or S. NAsri and with L. Modric becoming more of a mirage, it is believed that Manchester United may well go for a double swoop offer of $100m to Santos FC in a bid to land both Neymar and Ganso!!
This bear a resemblance to the same situation which happened in 2007 when they went for a double swoop of Brazilian midfielder Anderson and Portuguese winger Nani. At that time it was believed to be a great deal. But so far even if they have both contributed to bringing two Barclays Premier League, a League Cup and a Champions League as well as both scoring in the penalty shootout against Chelsea in that final, both players have not really matured into the great stars that was expected of them. Nani just recently started to improve his game after the departure of fellow C. Ronaldo whereas Anderson has so far been only a bit part player.
Thus, will it really be a good idea to land both Neymar and Ganso?

I do not think that Neymar will be going to Manchester United, it is 100% 'pie-in-the-sky'.

A good player, but we have enough young pieces of potential, and I really don't see this one happening.

United will, this time, go for grounded, definite talent rather than wonderkids with bags of potential...

Good article though, but one for dreamers

Well you may actually be quite right "Football NOT Soccer" but if Man Utd wants to retain their Premier League Title next year and compete against both BArcelona and Real in the Champions League, they must go for that odd player which will make the difference thats required when the time comes. Neymar is the one.
