Manchester City plan £135 million Cristiano Ronaldo bid

Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim, the front-man of new Man City owners Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG), plans a complete overhaul of the club which could see an audacious attempt at landing Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in the January transfer window.
ADUG plan to turn City into not only a top four club, but one that will eventually contend with the likes of current Champions League winners Manchester United and Spanish giants Real Madrid for European glory. In order achieve this, Al-Fahim has stated that the club must set its sights high when looking to sign players, and has made it clear that money will be no object.
"Real Madrid were estimating (Ronaldo’s) value at £90 million but for a player like that, to actually get him, will cost a lot more, I would think £134 million.” Al-Fahim told BBC reporters. “But why not? We are going to be the biggest club in the world, bigger than both Real Madrid and Manchester United.
“Ronaldo has said he wants to play for the biggest club in the world, so we will see in January if he is serious." Al-Fahim has also stated in an interview on arabianbusiness.com that he intends to make both Liverpool striker Fernando Torres and Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas future transfer targets.
After taking over Man City on Monday for a reported £200 million, the UAE-based company have already proved they mean business by beating Chelsea to sign Real Madrid superstar Robinho for a record transfer fee of £32.5 million. The signing came as somewhat of a shock, with Chelsea being hot favourites to sign the disenfranchised Brazilian.
City also launched a shock bid for Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov hours after ADUG's takeover, an offer which was accepted by Spurs but rejected by the player whose future now lies at Manchester United.
