On 17th November’2009 Rahu and Ketu had changed their sign from Capricorn and Cancer sign to Sagittarius and Gemini sign respectively. Rahu in Sagittarius and Ketu in Gemini sign will stay here for the next one and half years. You can read this post in continuation of the one I wrote one and half years ago when Rahu transited to Capricorn and Ketu to Cancer.
Effect of Transit of Rahu in Sagittarius

Rahu commonly known as Dragon’s Head is also called as North node; Ketu as Dragon’s Tail is regarded as South node of Moon. As the name signifies they are the shadows of Moon and Vedic astrology considers them as shadow planets. They take their identity from its location or sign where it is placed in the chart and from association with other planets. They take the power of associated planets and magnify the influence of that particular planet. They are always in retrograde motion. It means that they always move backward in the sign.

To understand the effects of Rahu – Ketu and which areas of life will be churned up by this new transition, we must first know the attribute of these planets.

Rahu

Rahu makes a person materialistic, ambitious and desirous to achieve wealth and power. He sees trends well in advance, clever in getting needs met by hook or crook. In emergency he will come up with unusual solutions to problems at hand. Rahu works with innovative technology and creativity. Rahu is the main planetary factor behind insanity, neurological disorders, indigestion, restlessness, phobia, obsession, hallucination, small pox, snake bite, epilepsy and

imprisonment.

Ketu

Ketu is the significator of enlightenment (moksha karaka). It creates power of concentration, independence, transforming things into higher value and sudden changes in life. Ketu indicates a karmic connection with a past life; a clinging to issues on a psychological level. An individual still remembers and feels past events which should have dismissed. There is a real need to have an emotional clear out every so often otherwise person will suffer psychologically. It signifies isolation, low self image, full of doubt and fear, directionlessness, drug addiction or alcoholism, ulcers, anemia, disease caused by worms, muscular problems and nervous disorder.

When Rahu – Ketu combines with Sun and /or Moon, the individual suffers the most. Other planets get influenced depending on their benefic or malefic nature. I will be writing the effects of Rahu and Ketu in different signs with the new year prediction.

Christmas is for Christians as Diwali is to Hindus – the most awaited festival of the year. It is the time to clean and decorate the house, exchange gifts with friends and relatives, seek blessings from elders and prepare and distribute goodies.
Christmas, Vastu, Feng Shui

Why not apply Vastu principles to prepare for this Christmas? Here is what I recommend you to do.

After you have re-painted the house and cleaned it perform a space clearing ritual. Dissolve a lump of rock salt in water and mop the floor of the apartment with this salt water. Take some camphor in a bowl, burn it and walk along the sides of each room of the house thereby allowing the space to be filled with the fragrance of camphor. Before performing these two steps, you can repeat a positive affirmation – “By performing this space clearing ritual, my house is freed from all negative energies and full of positivity. All the inmates of the house are leading a healthy, harmonious and prosperous life this Christmas and the full year ahead.”

Space clearing ritual removes all negative energies from the space and it can be performed even if you have not re-painted the house on Christmas. Along with re-painting and space clearing do not forget to remove all clutter from the house.
Christmas, Vastu, Feng Shui

Once you have cleaned the house and the space within, you can now proceed to decorate it with bright colors and décor.

Use fresh flowers to decorate the house. Take a bowl filled with water and let colorful flowers float in it along with floating candles. Light up the entrance with lanterns, candles and lamps.

Place a turtle family (for harmony), green colored dragon for career luck, a figurine of running horses (for success) and an elephant figurine for wisdom, and a set of three Chinese coins (for prosperity) in the living area of the house where you plan to receive your guests during Christmas. All these feng shui cures are available in the market in different price ranges. Just remember, the richer they look the better results they give. Buy the ones which your wallet permits.

For performing Christmas prayers choose a room which is located in the north-east of the house and face North or East while praying.

I have written this article, much ahead of Christmas, to ensure its maximum reach. Feel free to share the link with friends and relatives.

God Bless you on this Christmas and always

Flowers and Feng Shui

October 12th 2009 23:29
Fresh flowers bring luck and fortune. Place fresh flowers in your living room and in your office. They have the ability to uplift your mood by their beauty and fragrance.

Feng Shui and Flowers

Feng Shui recommends that you change the flowers once they start to die. I have seen many people use dry flowers to decorate their home. In Feng Shui, dry flowers are believed to bring misfortune and hence should be avoided. In case you find it difficult to maintain fresh flowers, artificial flowers are a far better option than dry flowers and they are believed to bring luck.

Couples wishing to increase their family should avoid placing fresh flowers in their bedroom, a basket of fruit especially pomegranate is a potent symbol of fertility.
FengShui and Flowers
Similarly feng shui suggests that you avoid placing any fresh flowers in the bathroom as this will result in the good luck back firing and turning into bad luck.

Similarly avoid placing flowers which come with thorn as a décor, if you just love roses, chip off the thorns before placing it in your living room or office.

This is no mean feat considering that the topics covered are not so hot when compared to Hollywood and Celebraties. Moreover, topics like Astrology, Vastu and Feng Shui are searched less often than some of the current affairs topics related to international politics and sports

Happy Birthday!! Lord Ganesha

August 19th 2009 21:12
Lord Ganesha is the most prominent deities in Hinduism. His name is always invoked before any other God’s name in any prayer ceremony held by Hindus. Lord Ganesha is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Ganesha is the only son of a God who is also worshipped with that prominence. The name Ganesha means Chief of all servers (Shiva’s servers).
Lord Ganesha Ganapati

Lord Ganesha is considered to be the Lord of intellect as he penned the Indian epic Mahabharata on the request of its author – Sage Ved Vyas. Lord Ganesha is the remover of all obstacles in life and salutation to Him helps the devotees to overcome all obstacles in career, relationships, health and plans. Due to this His devotees present Him the first invitation card to marriage and recite his Mantra before all good deeds in their lives

on Yellow Sapphire: The Best of Gems

November 14th 2009 10:04
Dear Rajiv

Left handers can wear it in either hand. For most people yellow sapphire will not give extreme and sudden results - specially negative. However, for some specific combination of planets placement it may give extreme results

A personalized consultation will be recommendable.

Dear Mayura

Though Ganesha idols placed back to back brings general well being in the house, it is not a miracle cure of all problems.

I suggest you place them and see the results. When placing just recite your intentions of placing them when you are installing them on the door.

In case you want you can go through a personalized consultation and write to me in an email.
