The legends tell of mermaids causing the ships to sink. They tell of a song that comes from the sirens and lures sailors to sail to a cliff face. The creatures were alive in tropical waters. They were very nice and attractive. However they had a tail. The sailors craved to give them their hearts, and the females took their lives for it.

Are Mermaids Real?

March 10th 2012 08:28
Are mermaids real? Well there were said to be sirens. These occupied the islands around Greece and other places in BC. But no one has really been spotting such creatures since. Sometimes a mermaid hybrid - a half human half fish creature - have been spotted around the ocean side, or even in the ocean near some rocks. These have been made famous. However they are not sighted very often. Some are even hoaxes. Saying this there are fossils and dead things found, which are like mermaids but a little more barbaric. However during Captain Cooks time the mermaids were said to be walruses. Cook was so off his head on sea-water and starvation that he actually hallucinated. He wanted to steer the boat towards the mermaids but his men kept him on course. Still off the coast of Australia there are said to be some mermaid sightings. Other places are the islands around the Americas. Certainly there are traces, but no one has seen the kind of mermaid you can be attracted to with their song, or can take a romantic dive with. There have only been humans in costumes or something too alien to digest. The fairy tale seems to be fable, and will probably continue to be until... someone scours the ocean and finds whatever is The Real Mermaid.

Crystal Skulls

February 23rd 2012 06:39
Skulls have been found all over the world, most with bones. However some skulls have been found in the South American region. Thirteen crystal skulls have been found, and they have evolved a mystery. These skulls are believed to be between 5000 - 36 000 years old. Most don't know where they came from.

The Mitchell Hedges Skull is the more famous. It looks entirely human, and has a removable jaw. The discovery of the skull has been said to be a really impressive hoax. However more people have been researching it and believe that it was a part of some prophecy. With the Mitchel Hedges skull however it was said to be purchased in London in 1943

Flooding In Myth

February 22nd 2012 09:37
Floods are one of the worst disasters of the world. In myth there was a deity or god who was capable of controlling the sky and sea. He began to flood the world in order to get rid of those who sinned. This led to the building of Noahs Ark, and was the foundation of many myths around the world. All accounts from India to Greece agreed that there had been a big flood, and that it had wiped out mankind. There are parallels that are drawn, and that the waters - including the primeval waters - rose.

Accounts say there were flooding of the rivers, tsunamis, underwater eruptions, and some even say that the sea-men of the ocean rose in order to flush the lands with water so that they could prove they could rule it

The more famous version are Greek myths, however every base culture has its own myth. Native cultures in particular often had strong mythological bases. These have helped to develop traditions.
