So, I decided to run with it. The voices are coming out great so far. I will probably need help in the editing phase because I do not want either to sound feminine (as I am a woman writing.) It's a new way to get into the minds of the characters. There language as radio hosts has to be sharp and and poignant. It rolls over into their daily lives because it is their career. I think it's going to be a fun journey, and I will indeed enjoy LTJ (Living the Journey)
I'll be coming at you live in a few with some character sketches and future thoughts, just to keep the ball rolling, but it's late now. I need to do something productive. Hopefully I'll go to....zzz!
So I am thinking about making Zeke and Carmel radio hosts. it would be interesting for them to exploit their lives via the radio waves. It could be a semi-syndicated channel. I can't break out all the details (Idk 60% of them anyways), but this is their career path. This is where the journey has led them thusfar. They play fly music as well as underground. So some of the passages would be streams of songs and lyrics. Also, they have several different semi-talk shows. No call ins because I think that would make the voices already harder than they will be, but just a way to get it all out. AIR THEIR MALE LAUNDRY?
My best friend and I talk alot about alot of things and being girls (and she being a girly girl girl) men come up a lot. [This is not a feminist post. Males of the World- AMERICA, Do not fear.] She thinks; I write and think. And we have composited a list our our perfect husbands. Hers is Zeke. Mine is Carmel.
So I wondered. what if I write a story or something about them. Will it make them more real or just boost our imaginary Egos? Since she and I are like best friends/sisters, they could be brothers, VERY DIFFERENT practically opposite. (She and I are.)
I am not much for male voices when it comes to writing, but I love a challenge. I like gruff, rough, tough determined males with coarse yet soft facial hair and HAIR. I would love for that hair to stop being cerebral and talk. So I'm thinking that I'll work on this story to help me leap out of this depression because what woman does dream of a good, solid, sexi man?! (I know but still)...
These are my thoughts:
Sexi guys (not egotistical)
different
unique
determined
on a journey
discussing a brotherhood and all that it entails
a story for men and women
Not just about sex (I refuse to believe that that's all men think about)
