Lucky Aussies : Saved by the Rain

It appears to me that Mitchell Starc is Australia’s best bowler at the moment, not to mention the fact that he is also the best batsman. Is he the greatest all-rounder Australia has ever seen? The big left arm seamer has always been a challenge for batsmen but now he is showing his worth as a challenge to bowlers as well.
Australia and Sri Lanka had their match abandoned in conditions that weren’t particularly awful, and the only shining light to come out of another poor performance, if only half a poor performance was Starc. He scored 52* from 37 balls and made sue his side weren’t bowled out again by the tourists. He, alongside Xavier Doherty has proved a thorn in the side of Sri Lanka who have struggled multiple times to remove one of this pair. They put on an unbeaten 40 for the final wicket to take the hosts past 200. Dave Warner had earlier made 60 but Australia once again had many players making starts but no big innings was made. The Sri Lankans restricted their hosts to 222-9, and reached just 14 in reply before the math was halted and then subsequently abandoned.
