Wynnum Manly and Lota

Once upon a time the railway line ended at Lota, some 17 kms from the city of Brisbane. Lota was almost in the midst of swampland, with the Tingalpa Creek and the lowlying swamping area. It was for many the end of the world.
If you said you came from Lota, you immediately dropped to the bottom of the pecking order, and those people from Wynnum and Manly fared little better. But all that has changed.
Wynnum Manly is the gateway to Moreton Bay, being the closest place to baord a boat and head for the glorious waters of the bay. There are some 300 plus island in the Bay, and spectacular scenery and amazing marine life.
The train does go beyond Lota now, and in fact goes to another beautiful place, Cleveland. The train trip itself is worth doing.
As well as the railway line linking Cleveland and Brisbane, people have discovered sea views and the homes around the area with sea views are on top of the real estate price tree. Views are spectacular.
there's lots to do and see. It is a peaceful unspoiled area with shopping, beaches, restaurants and an array of other activities. Just 17 kms from the city.
