Many people think that countryside have much less stuffs in it than the cities, but actually when we think of it, it may not really matter. We can all still live and survive without all these complex sophisticated 'toys' we have in cities, the only thing that really matters is happiness.

countryside
France, Dordogne, Domme

In Response to Competition

April 25th 2008 05:47
In response to one of the question raised by a fellow friend in my university class, about competition, here what i said:

conflict
I think our way and concept of competing can be regarded very brutal, violent, and primitive-way of life. As individuals, when we compete in our society, we tend consciously/ subsconsciously wishing to tackle all the others out and everyone too equally desire to tackle all the others down, and keep the single top seat for himself/herself. Whoever will win, it would just be certain that the seat would just be reserved for one. Would there be enough seat for everyone? And through such competition, we raise focus on our individuality, therefore making our society more and more individualistic, socially-isolated and antipathic towards others(especially others that may threat our 'competition

Everything have purpose. Everything have its philosophy. Even apple have its own philosophy, so does it with dance. Do we ever ask ourselves why we move our hands, legs or body in such fashion or are we just imitating others?

dance
Today, napping myself in a comfy public lounge, i woke up greeted with the sounds of people from different clubs in my school singing and practicing their dance whatever kind of they are affiliated to. As i slowly open up my eyes and stretching myself, i began to wonder and think of things. Why dance? What is dance? What is dance for? I realized i just couldn't understand how everybody there dance whatever their style and club is. They all have one thing in common, the way everyone i have ever seen practicing their dance starting to seem awkward to me

esoteric
Exoterics...Exoterics are the outer teachings, the hidden teachings, the teachings that are given to the outer circle of not-so-devoted-students or the general masses of public, passerbys or temporary students and are available to common people just like the ones that we often encounter in our daily lives in forms of boxes and separate boxes of religion.

While esoteric teachings were teachings that were only transmitted to the inner circles. Such was the ways masters-students apprenticeship have been done for over countless centuries, in the good intention to make sure that only the students that are ready to gain the teachings get the teachings. For the student, it requires intimacy with the master's teaching to have the esoteric imparted upon the student. Knowledge given to those who are not prepared for it would not only confuse or harm themselves, but may also harm other people surrounding that person. Also it is important to make sure some dangerous techniques or skills to be passed on to rightful and virtuous person who can live responsibly not mis-using the esoteric techniques or skills

Wow! I am damn in love right now!!! Very very in love!!! With who? With the truths presented in the Theosophical Society!!! It is my lost found love of truth! I'm now pregnant with it,

Upon an invitation from a friend who works full time as a hypnotherapist, I got the priviledge to attend a free 'Course in Theosophy' lectures held by the Singapore Lodge Theosophical Society. All the staffs there are volunteers who has their own full time job but couldn't ignore their deep compassion to share their treasure of knowledge with the public.

Not Fictioned!

March 26th 2008 15:45
chinese palace
I cried much today, cried out of anger, out of rage, out of awe, out of admiration and out of sympathy. I was reading many short biographies account of great men and women depicted in a modern-packed book of chinese classic. It was an honor for me being able to witness their great honorable virtues though indirectly through words. To know that such benevolent virtuous person really did exist in history, not just in mere absurd human fantasy is one thing that makes reading a non-fiction something very valuable for me than reading fiction.

chinese army
The story revolve in eras of kingdom and emperors reigning China. Through it, I found many people like me, who would put up fight against injustice, speak out what is true and stand on their right principles, even when it cost it their life, and in fact, many real-life person depicted in that book had really in fact lost their life from doing so. I was relieved to realize that i am not alone, as if i was no longer blind believing that almost none would live out life like that. I was tremendously proud of them

Egg - An Extravagance

March 23rd 2008 15:36
egg
Egg...One very extravagant ingredient in many of human foods. But do we humans ever think as far as how it got there? To produce a cake, usually it takes 3-4 eggs or even worse 10-12 fpr a big pile of fried chicken. That is the count of individual person making eggs, but what about one community, one country, one earth? Then have we included all those eggs needed to make fried this and fried that, omelette, or for a plate of nasi goreng or mie goreng, and so on.
Egg is so easy to use, but so hard to produce. Do we think of how much effort and how long does it take for a chicken to lay out an egg? Just to fulfill eggs requirements for a modern household, how many chickens does it needs? What much more it would be to fulfill egg demand for one city or even one country!
What is more of concern to me, is how much sufferings it inflicts to eggs-laying chicken just to get a dozen of eggs piled up. Although eating eggs are not killing in its literal sense, but by demanding eggs, i see that we create so much pain and suffering for chicken. Therefore, i shall re-consider taking eggs in my diet

To Touch The Earth

March 23rd 2008 15:35
23 March, 2008, Sunday

One day i'd really one to raise food for myself, planting the trees, seeding them, watering them then at last picking them by my own hands. How wonderful it would be to feel the sacred connection with the earth every time i nourish myself. To feel how 'real' apple taste like, how 'real' tomato feels and looks like. It feels really different! The feeling! Eating an apple dished in a restaurant with eating an apple that we pick out ourself from nature

The Beautiful Heart

March 22nd 2008 15:33
22 March, 2008, Saturday

It's in a library of a cruise ship. I was enjoying my metaphysical reading with my computer on, reading while listening music. Out of nowhere, a small little girl walked to me, and curiously take a look at my computer, perhaps a type that she had never seen before, then she looked back at me and left
