MySpace has introduced a News Feature! How impressive is that. Those teenage girls (and boys) on an online community will finally have access to information other than who is dating who, and what so and so did to such and such! But then again, some comments and photographs found on myspace do fit the model of front cover news! Let's not get dillusional, the centre of the universe does revolve around the MySpace generation!
This seems to be a revolution of the future... News for MySpace, perhaps what should follow are whiteboards and maths text books at Malls! We'd be a smarter, tuned in and highly educated generation of people!
How much do we love the Friday Night football games!

The competition format focuses on the fans and it's working wonders.
Games are exciting, we're looking forward to the weekend.
Four days of footy! More than half a week dedicated to footy! Can't beat that...
Actually we can, the Roosters are coming last!

From the Sydney Morning Herald:
Seven network personality Naomi Robson faces deportation from Indonesia after being caught attempting to enter the troubled province of Papua on a tourist visa.
Indonesian police stopped the Today Tonight current affairs show host and her four-member crew at Jayapura airport on Wednesday morning after a tip-off about their impending arrival.
The five were questioned at a nearby hotel and are expected to be deported for breaching visa regulations.
They may also be fined and blacklisted from ever entering the country again.
"I can confirm that there are five journalists from Channel Seven, the Australian TV broadcaster," Indonesian foreign affairs department spokesman Desra Percaya said from Jakarta.
"They were entering Indonesia through Denpasar and then Jayapura.
"When we looked at papers, the documentation, it seems there was a breach of immigration regulation, meaning that they entered Indonesia using the on-arrival visa which is for tourism, while we do have some information and other indication that they are going to do some kind of journalistic activity.
"That's why they were being questioned by the local authorities, by the police.
"It is still being processed."
The spokesman said there were three punishment possibilities for breaching the visa regulations - immediate deportation, deportation and a fine, or deportation, a fine and blacklisting.
"There is no decision on that yet," Mr Percaya said.
He said authorities received information on Tuesday that the five were due to arrive on a tourist visa on Wednesday.
Mr Percaya said the five had been questioned but were not detained.
"They are not held - they are staying in a hotel and the processes are being done," he said.
An Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesman confirmed that the five were discussing their internal travel arrangements with the Indonesian authorities.
A Seven Network spokeswoman said Ms Robson was overseas on a special assignment, which was expected to last for a few weeks.
Papua was the centre of a diplomatic row between Australia and Indonesia earlier this year after Australia granted protection visas to 43 boat people who fled the province claiming persecution by Indonesian authorities.
The asylum seekers were part of a separatist movement which claims that the Indonesian military is carrying out genocide in the province.

I was going to throw this topic up... what are some of the other achievements that current affairs program have made?
C'mon, we can't go past some of the best of them...
All the temporary signs leading to the Habour Crossings have been reading "More E-Lanes on Tunnel from September 10th" (or something like that). And it seems to be the wow, fantastic thing for traffic flow, more cashless lanes means less stopping and continuous movement through the biggest hurdle to getting to the Sydney Harbour Tunnel - and I have to admit, I do like my E-tag and very much in favour of having all bar one toll booth dedicated to cars with E-tags.
This change has come abouts because of the Lane Cove Tunnel project, a new roadway that has brought with it much controversy and frustration amongst motorists

We can't overlook this person this particular week. Germaine Greer, you deserve sometime in the sin bin for your comments regarding Steve Irwin.
The death of the 'Crocodile Hunter' managed to make news bullitins across the United States and Europe, deeply shocking and impacting fans. The stunned feeling was probably felt more so outside of Australia, and the shock within Irwin's home country was already stunning! Yes, we may have had some doubts about the way he carried on and what image he was giving to Australia, however let's face it, he was still entertaining when it came to his live appearance at major events - one must remember the logies when he tripped and the snake he was holding at the time managed to bite the inside leg of Tim Webster

We can't doubt this is the most exciting time of the year! More so the fact the Roosters aren't in the finals - again! I'm sorry, I really don't mean that...
But yes, twenty-six weeks of competition seems to have (as the cliche goes) flown by. But instead of looking into the finals, let's use this week to savour what made the 2006 season proper (in no particular order): [ Click here to read more ]

However, you raised Robertson's speed and position, I would say that had Robertson not tucked his head in, he would be in a far worse condition!
I was there on Friday night and when it happened, from afar it didn't look overly dangerous - I thought, yep, it'll be on report and BK probably would be in trouble for goin over the top. But everytime I see it on replay I've got to say I'm more convinced he should have been sent off!
As I said, had Robertson looked "up" (ie. looked towards the ground) or even straightened his head he may be in a lot of trouble.
