I could not figure out why stopped following RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 4! I’m in love with this show! I am formally apologizing for not being a true consistent blogger to RuPaul and the girls. Tonight, I figured out why!

The final lip sync in Episode 3 between Dida Ritz and Princess set me on fire!

This is the reason I started watching the show in the first place. The funny comments and the dramatic lip sync for your life scenes were the best1 Each week during Season 1, I sat on the edge of my seat as RuPaul stated seriously“ This is your last time to impress me and the judges and safe yourself from elimination. ….and don’t F**k it up!” The suspense killed me! The songs kicked butt and the drag queens really got down. It kept me coming back.

Like a long relationship without a spark, I did not realize what was missing from my beloved show until Dida Ritz BLEW UP the lip sync for your life in Episode 3. Natalie Cole was one of the special guests and the lip sync song was “This Will Be An Everlasting Love” sung by Cole. Dida pulled from pride and respect for Natalie to perform the BEST lip sync I have seen in seasons! It is worth a watch many times over! The judges could not help themselves; each was cheering and waving their hands and handkerchiefs. Natalie Cole was mesmerized as she shouted toward the stage.

Scroll to 38:05 to watch the lip sync

Conclusion for this blogger is the season was over at episode 3. The winner for season 4 has been announced. (The final three are in the leading photo.) I will watch the back episodes as a technicality but Dida won my heart this season. If anything miraculous happened, I will write about it. In the meantime, HAIL TO DIDA RITZ!

Who Moved the Cheese?

Want your money? It is best to keep a watchful eye on it in your bank. In the state of California banks have a policy that you may not know about that will allow your money to be given to the state.

California has an Unclaimed Property Law, California Code- Title 10. This law mandates businesses, associations, insurance companies and financial institutions to report yearly accounts with inactivity to the state controller’s office. The owners of the accounts are legally supposed to be contact before the money goes to the state.

The California State Controller’s website states that, “The Unclaimed Property Law was enacted to prevent holders of Unclaimed Property from using your money and taking it into their business income.”

Ehow.com reports, “as of 2010, the state holds unclaimed property of more than $5.7 billion owned by about 11.6 million people and organizations.”

This law applies to: contents of safe deposit boxes; stocks, mutual funds and dividends; cashier’s checks and money orders not cashed; certificates of deposits; estates; mature and ended insurance policies; royalty payments; and trust funds and escrows.

Do you have some money you forgot about? Check your accounts. Inactivity is described by one bank as no money withdrawn or deposited in a period of two years. Even if your account as the sufficient funds without activity the state can still hold onto your cash.

Check the California Controller website or the site in your state and you may find your lost cash.

The queens take a whirl at wrestling in episode 2 of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 4. According to the website, “The dolls enter the world of ladies wrestling as the competition moves to the ring. “ This week Ru pulls from the NBA with special guest judges Rick Fox and John Salley! The regular judges Michelle Visage, a singer and TV/Radio host and Billy B (Billy Brasfield), a successful makeup artist were on deck.

For the first challenge RuPaul told the queens that padding is the foundation of drag. For the mini challenge the queens were asked to make an ass of themselves by super padding their butts. The queens had 30 minutes to shove as much padding on their backside as possible! This gave a whole new meaning to “Baby Got Back”! The pictures are worth a thousand words. The winners of the big bootie challenge were, Chad Michaels, Willam, and Phi Phi O’Hara. The winners were able to pick the crew for their next challenge, drag queen wrestling!

The nutty queen, Mimi Imfurst must have inspired Rupaul in Season 3, when she picked up India Ferrah and spun her during the lip sync for your life! “ Mimi Imfurst Drag is not a contact sport, “ RuPaul stated. That was then and this is now!

This season’s queens broke into good girls and mean girls wrestling teams. The crews took some one on one tough lesson from professional wrestlers: “Hollywood Own”, Joey Ryan, Hector “El Chido” Conales and “King of Submissions”, Ryan Taylor.

Wincing the queens did their best to be tough asses. When it came down to brass tacks the winner of the WTF Team was Team Chad Michaels, the Bitch Kickers.

The runway theme this week was for the queens to sport a girly-girl outfit. Some of the outfits were very girly-girly and some interesting. The judge’s critics were tough this week. Who knew basketball players were going to be so harsh.

When Willam was asked about the wrestling competition she said it went great and her team kicked ass. Au contraire mon frère, John Salley said the competition was weak in the ring and Willam’s expressions were not believable. Ouch!

The Princess had a blown away hair look, and Billy B said he hated it and it looked like a bad hair show. Michelle Visage said that Princess’s wrestling performance did not have any spunk. Princess said she was zen and she was trying. Michelle told her to try harder. Double Ouch!

Didi Ritz said she was channeling Sex in the City. Rick Fox said she was more like Sex in the Alley.

Jiggly’s comments were not flattering either; Rick Fox told her that her lollipop prop was better than her style.

Billy B bombed on Lashawn Beyond by telling her she looked like a back up singer for Luther Vandross in 1988!

Based on the presentation on the main stage and in the wresting ring two queens were up for elimination. Princess and Lashawn Beyond had a last chance to impress Ru and save themselves from elimination. “Time to lip sync for your life and don’t f*** it up!”

The song was “Bad Girls” by Donna Summer. Lashawn Beyond committed a major drag no-no. She took off her shoes before the song. The whole point is to sing and get so carried away you may kick off your shoes during the song but not before. Patty LaBelle use to do this in concert. It is very dramatic. Never the less Lashawn was very stiff, without spunk and robotic. Princess had grace and worked it but was by far not outstanding. Princess won, Shante You Stay! Lashawn Beyond, Sashay Away .

I was very shocked to see someone talk about eating four burgers and eat them. I too watch tv for fun. When it is painful, it is not fun. I don't know how that poor guy turned out but the clip was jawdropping.

"How is offering more money to only one group to offset a perceived inequity not a form of discrimination against those groups not fortunate enough to receive such bonuses?"
Interesting question. I agree the field should be level and it will not be. This cycle of oppressed and oppressor is historic. Small change is in the right direction but we all know the foundation is needs to be rebuilt. Spitting in the wind won't help that.

Jon,
What do you consider current affairs? My area of concern is mostly education, I think education is a current affair.

I also think articles that are reported in in the New York Times are current.

What are the criteria for professional?

Thanks for the site. I have enjoyed posting on here very much.

Journeywoman,

Thank you so much for your response and positive comments.

I have been asked to move to different locations and a few private locations. The situations were not better.

I specialize in struggling learners. Most places have difficulty with this population. Private means that the parents are paying and the school has power over whom it admits. Unfortunately, schools do not want the problem child or struggling learner.

I am writing a book about my experiences and I hope to be a jumping board for change in this current system.
