Lingering...

...between this world and sleep. Paul's mother is still in the process of dying a "natural" death. But, it appears as if all that matters is in place and any concerns answered. Her every needs are met and she is kept comfortable with minimal use if any drug therapy. Paul and his sister are close as siblings could hope to be. They will be strength for one another.
I am home.
Not that I am not a supportive partner, but circumstances out of our control force one of us to be home. Pernicious landlord and construction overhead, force us to protect our belongings by being present during the day when work is being done; due to the inordinate amount of unnecessary worry our landlord's constuction problems and contractor's woes have caused us. If I told you what has been going on since April of 2006 you would think it was a badly made up lie. The truth is always the hardest to swallow. It's boring and no one should have had to put up with the commotions that we have endured, but I am sure when time enough has passed, it will be funny and poignant. Laughter thru tears, my favorite emotion.
So, has life unfolds and is ever changing, we sit and wait, her life ending before our eyes.
It seems fitting that her son and daughter be present at her death as she was giving them life. May we all be loved and go so peacefully surrounded by family and friends.
