Lifes little slices - October 2007

Please stop the rain!!

We have had rain for a good week. The horses need the rain to stop so the farmer can get hay delivered. We even ordered hay from two differnet farmers, thinking ne could bring it, but no luck so far. Hope it comes soon. we're getting almost bare. If all else fells, we can just use my trailblazer and go just grab a couple bales.
The kids want the rainto stop because our halloween party is tomarow. The game we're most excited about has to be done outside. The rest can be done inside. We decorated the inside and outside, so if it rained we could still get great pictures.

The game we are doing outside is a Town Scavenger hunt. I'm taking a team of four and hubby is taking a team of four. My daughter Kaitlyn is being a fire fairy and i made everything for her costume. It sooo will not hold up to rain with all the roses and feathers. She wants to wear her costume, so i pray for sunshine, or atleast no rain, tomarow. Atleast long enough for the scavenger hunt. The rest of the games could be inside, so no worry if it rains after that.

My best friend denise is comming with her mom and daughter. She made tabby's costume too so i know she wants to wear her costume too.

Tomarow morning kaitlyn is volunteering at our church to be a waitress for the spaghetti diner. I will take my friends family there for an early lunch where kaitlyn will wait on us. After the party we're all going to a haunted house which i soooo cannot wait for. Denise has NEVER been to one. I'm bringing ear plugs cause i bet she will be screaming ALOT. It's going to be a great weekend. I am sooo excited.
I've been working ALOT trying to get as many proof reads done as i can to make some good paychecks for christmas. We also leave next friday to head to Williamsburg for two weeks.
When your job is on the computer, you don't blog as much as you use to. I am getting alot fatser and i'm getting alot of reports done. I wont have that WANT, to work constantly, in between maiking Kaites costume, decorating and planning games, after christmas comes and goes.
Well, thats pretty much it in our world.

Just life stuff!!

The weather is sooo perfect. A great fall day. Leaves are all turning
orange, yellow and red. Looks like a painting i'd love to have hanging
above my fireplace in the great room.
Kate and i are on a small road trip. My friend has been wanting me to
come to Baltimore. We've grown so close that we almost have to see
each
other weekly. <soft smile> Her and her family went to Florida with us
on our trip for about ten days of the three weeks. They are comming to
our house in PA next weekend for our Halloween party and we're also
going to haunted houses saterday night. We will probably go on a
haunted hayride.
I finished Kates fairy wings, head peice, and her skirt is almost
done.
We're all in Denise's scion riding around doing feild jobs right now.
I'm on the laptop doing blogs and i also did a few proof reads.
We have about two more feild jobs to do and then we'll head back home
and hang out. I brung three pumkins from our Garden for Kate and
Denise's daughter Tabby to do for homeschooling art class, and just
for
fun ofcourse.
We arrived here last night and we'll stay till Friday. Kate works
saterday or we'd stay a day or two exta, but i do need to head back
home anyway because i still have halloween party stuff to plan and
shop
for. This is one of my favorite parties to throw. One of the games i
love best is, "You have two people on a team, all the teams go in
seperate rooms, and you get twenty minutes, newspaper, tape, scisors
and
string. You see which team comes up wih the best costume, and we all
vote. You wouldn't beleive what the kids and adutls come up with. it's
too cool. Kate made her friend last year into the statue of liberty.
It
was my favrite. We're alos taking two teams in two vehicles, in
costume
and doing a scavengerhunt around town. Thats a huge winner of a game
too.
The ride up was beautful. Kate and i stopped at a lake and took fall
pictures. It wasn't exactly fall at our house when we left, but should
be when i get back. The whole four hour drive here we had all the
windows down, kate had my cannon camara out the window in the
sunshine,
snapping pics all the way. Cars would go by waving at her. She is such
a cute soul and i adore her and the way she waves at people when they
go
by, getting them to smile and wave back.
Life is beautiful!!!

Dang, my bird died!!!

Here i just got done replying to post about Tinkerbell die'ing, i go to get out the birds and find that Luna is dead!!! I almost screamed. Poor luna and poor PD. it was his girl. no wonder i didn't hear a churp from him today. Or from them today. This is why i almost didn't get Petunia. When you get animals, get attached and fall in love, then you sometimes loose them and its hard. I almsot lost Tinkerbell. She is my shadow, my lap dog. She had to be fixed because her overi was hanging by a blood vessel. But my stud is her father so we couldn't breed her anyway. I was talking to hubby about fixing her so we didn't get an accidental breeding. Now she is fixed.
Luna is gone!! Thinking about getting a new one for PD. He's be sooo lonely now.
We finished decorating for the halloween party. Well, almost done. All we have is a little bit of webs to put up, then we are done.

Tinkerbell almost died!!!

I was away on vacation for three weeks with the kids when it happened. Hubby opened the door and let her outside to potty before work, like we always do. She was out no longer then 10 minutes and came back in with her intestines hanging out a HUGE hole in her stomach. We still to this day have no clue what happened. something peirced all the way through her 4lb body, popped out her back and then she wiggled off it somehow, wobbeling back inside. The house was dark since hubby was leaving for work, so he didn't even realze anythin was wrong, just let her in and went to work. She laid inside and by a miricle survived the night. When our vet opened her, her overise where hanging barely by a blood vesel and wher ein bad shape. She is now a fixed puppy and healed wll. she is our little miricle for sure. She didn't want to eat he blan food perscribed for two weeks, until i got home. and a dog that always followed me everywhere now REALY follows me everywhere. Even into the bathroom. lol
So alot has changed since i have been away sooo much. Petunia, i'm sad to say is gone. She it about three hundred pounds and was tearing up stuff, especialy the trailer skirting, letting the horses out and stuff. We had recently put in a fourth pasture. One for Blaze since her was profesionally broke. It had two lines, and when we first did it, Petunia could fit under it. After awhile she could no longer fit but thought she could. She'd sqeeze under, popping the wires and setting Blaze free. She always slept under the trailer, but could no longer fit there either. She was sooo use to roaming that caging her, didn't work. Like i said too, her legs had gotten super bad and she couldn't walk well anmore. She was only three hundred lbs about and was only four months old, or close there somewhere. The farmer, neighbors and the people that picked her up said she'd be around eight hundred by time she was done growing. The people we bought her from said she'd only hit about two hundred. They sure lied
