Not around much...

September 10th 2007 03:06
I don't know if anyone checks this or not, but I wanted to apologize for not being around much (at all) for the last month. I'm having some health issues that hopefully will be worked out soon. Add that to school starting couple weeks ago and a weird work schedule...I've been stressed. Hopefully I'll have some news wednesday and I'll come post about it.

Love to all.

Disposal of Expired Medication

August 16th 2007 22:18
I would like to know what the best way of disposing of expired OTC medication, and unused prescription medication is. I have been told a few different things, and they all are somewhat contradictory.

When my grandmother died in April, the pharmacy (connected to a major hospital) I called told me to do this long, laborious process that seemed...like it would just essentially be throwing the pills away. They said to ground up the pills, dissolve them in water, pour the water on coffee grounds or sand, put the sand into a coffee can or some other container, place the container in two plastic bags and throw away. Some day, that will all decompose

Received the abuse file.

August 14th 2007 14:21
First of all, do all state/official documents have huge amounts of misspellings, grammar errors, and words left out/typed incorrectly (ie wasn't turns into was). It was really frustrating to read just because of that in itself, some of it doesn't make sense due to the errors.

Besides that. Reading it didn't make me feel any better. There were things I was expecting to be in there, that weren't. Things I wasn't expecting were in there

Hard Knock Life

August 11th 2007 03:25
Having a bit of a hard time the last few days, not particularly sure why. My head is constantly killing me. My knees throb/ache with red-hot pain after only being on them for a few hours.

I utterly despise my job right now and am seriously considering finding something else. I am a very loyal person when it comes to jobs. I do not choose companies lightly. I worked at a grocery store before the job I have now. I started at $7.35/hr and ended up at $10.55/hr after 2.5 years. They cut everyone to part time, forcing most of the higher-paid associates to find other work. I started the current job at $8.50/hr (then a $0.50 raise after 90 days), I have been there almost 3 years and make $9.66. I am pretty sure I'll get the standard $0.33 raise next month, putting me at about $10/hr. 3 YEARS later...and I'm still not at what I made before

6) I made my manager kill a scorpion that was wondering in the middle of an aisle. He said I could take care of it if I wanted to. I figured he got paid to do stuff like that and I don't. He squished it with a rubber mallet. Yeah.

7) A co-worker found someones car keys behind our paint shaker. They had to have been there a very long time. I sort of remember the person I think they belong to, oddly enough. He had to have his boss come get him. We seriously could not find the keys. There is a grocery store card on them, so I am going to drop them off so they can be looked up

Accidentally Shoplifting?

July 28th 2007 12:55
Last night at Walmart I shoplifted...accidentally. I personally did not even know that was possible. I'm really glad I did not get caught because really, how do you explain it?

I worked 2-11pm last night and it was very busy. Actually, the whole week has been nuts, which I must make another post about later. I was supposed to get cat litter on the way to work but decided to wait until after. I do not normally go to Walmart because it is so busy all the time, but apparently it's not too bad at midnight - besides having only 2 registers open

Consequences Continued

July 27th 2007 17:22
I found out yesterday that the man who sexually abused/exploited* me was fired at some point last week. The investigator was out of town Wed-Sun (which I knew about) and either did not check the status until I emailed him yesterday, or knew and did not tell me. Either way, frustrating.

I am completely unsure about how I'm feeling. Of course I am glad that he finally is paying for what he did. I am a little upset that it took me so long to realize that it was wrong, and even longer to have the courage/ambition to report what happened. I am scared he'll file a grievance, but do not think he will. I still feel guilty, about so much of this. I wonder if the other staff member was questioned, but do not believe so because the investigator never really went over that with me. I think about his kids, and remember how cute they sounded

Prescription Drug Costs

July 25th 2007 02:02
Prescription prices are something that almost everyone has to deal with from time-to-time. In the US if you do not have prescription insurance and need a medication that does not have a generic formula, then you either have to pay insane prices or settle for a sometimes not-as-effective substitute. I know most states have different plans and programs that can help, but on my income (more than 17k less than 20k) I wouldn’t qualify.

I am fortunately well insured. This is a combination of working for a very large company and picking a good plan. I take 3 prescription medications and would have to pay around $710 for a ONE month supply at retail costs. Through my insurance’s mail order program I pay $90 for THREE months. In a year I would pay $8,500 retail for medications, not including random antibiotics or whatever else. Right now I pay $360. There is no way that I could ever afford to pay retail costs, and I don’t know many people that could. Now, I could change a few of them around, and get it a little cheaper – but not much

Do you let your Significant Others read your email or any other personal correspondence? For some reason I have a problem with this. There are things I would rather my b/f not read, but nothing that he doesn't already know. It is just a privacy issue I guess. I completely react when he sits down at my computer and starts going through email, live journal, message boards and other such things. The thing is, he probably only does it because he knows I react to it.

In high school I had a boyfriend who was really worried about me, and with the help of my cousin they hacked my email and read everything I was writing online. It really killed my trust in that aspect of relationships. Of course, they had a right to be worried, but that's besides the point

Bookstore Embarrassment

July 20th 2007 00:25
On Saturday I have a bachelorette party to go to for one of my friends. Now, this is not your normal everyday bachelorette party, this is an 18 (at least) hour event. I'm not much of a partier because it gets me in trouble, so I'm not particularly looking forward to it. Not to mention that I don't know anyone except my friend.

We are going to a salon for manicures and pedicures. Then to dinner and drinks at a nice mexican restaurant. After that there is a piano bar and then finally the Naughty Party. The only thing on this list that I'd normally do is the mexican restaurant. I work in a warehouse so my nails are crappy, and I HATE having my feet touched. Last time I went to a bar was almost a year ago, and Naughty Party? Yeah right

Vacation At Home

July 17th 2007 22:13
When people normally think of a vacation, they have a destination in mind. You go to visit your family, camping at a state park, Six Flags, Disney World, anywhere but nowhere. What is the point of a vacation if you are just going to loaf around at home for a week with nothing to do?

Well, I am on vacation this week and I am staying home with nothing to do. My boyfriend could not get any time off, and I really need to use up my time. I do have plans though, and I have actually started on them! Yesterday I cleaned out all the trash, junk, and randomness piled up in my computer (homework) room. I made a list of all the stuff and posted it yesterday. Today I went through all the old bills and piles of papers, and have a huge stack of stuff to shred along with a neatly organized file system. I also mowed the front lawn, and I am going to start refinishing a table

Confessions of a Pack-Rat

July 16th 2007 19:25
I have to admit that my boyfriend and I are both huge pack-rats. It drives his mother nuts (but I don't really care about that) and clutters our home beyond belief.

We bought a house last September, before that we had a small one bedroom apartment, and before that we had a medium two bedroom apartment. Some of this random stuff has followed us through 7 years together. Granted the last time we moved it was a big rush due to being out of state for a wedding the week prior, but some of the stuff I'm finding is just inexcusable
