Flashes of memories - MUGABE MUST GO!!! ZIMBABWEANS NEED THEIR HOME BACK

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness - Carl Jung To be at one with God is to be at peace ... peace is to be found only within, and unless one finds it there he will never find it at all. Peace lies not in the external world. It lies within one's own soul. - Ralph Waldo Trine

Life in God`s Easel

landscape, sunshine coast, australia

To me this life is like several movies are all playing at the same time, us being surrounded by various screens as we try to keep up with the storylines in each one. We may be watching a romance on one screen whilst a horror plays out on another. Very rarely all those screens seem to shift and come into alignment, playing out on the same screen, same storyline - it all seems to fit. And in that single moment we get to experience a moment of pure joy. That shift seems to ignite something deep inside, as if telling us that no matter what is playing out on all of those screens, the big picture is ok, everything is clear and all is right with you and your world and your journey.

I felt lucky to have one of these experiences on Sunday whilst driving in the mountains. The song on the radio was a quiet, soft one, the voice deep and beautiful. Ahead clouds gathered, their bellies painted in all shades of grey as they crawled across the sky, which seemed suddenly to have no limits. Birds caught thermals that rushed up off the cliff face and carried their little bodies in gently arcing waves through the air. The colours of the landscape seemed more vivid than normal, greens defined against one another as opposed to melding into one smudged mess. It was like I was on God`s easel, imagining Him sitting there painting this scene around us, just for us, just for that moment as the movies came into alignment.

Sometimes there are movies that you just wish would never end!

I really love that first pic....It reminds me of where I grew up.

I know exactly what you mean about the many movies. I given up trying to keep up with it! So rarely I have those good moments now, I just feel like Im free falling in this life. Its not exactly a bad feeling.

Love your description of your surroundings... I think that, to use your multiple films analogy, we create each of the texts which shape our lives, so how often they align is up to us.

Magnifique Ash! Great analogy, very insightful - and that pic is beautiful!

Hi Ash

I also really like your analogy, it's so true. Sometimes my films don't like each other and clash!!

Beautiful piece,

Trace

Ash, I love your line;

.. like several movies are all playing at the same time,

because it implies that if we aren't happy with the way one film is turning out, you can change theaters and experience something more appealing.. which I believe to be absolutely true.

Oh, I like that idea, Raven. That's a freeing way to look at life...

Hmmm...so true, Ash -- movies ...and soap-operas too! Love it -- makes life more interesting.

And this movie stars you.

Beautiful imagery and poetry in your words, as always.

Hiya K

What a beautiful place to have grown up! I love that part of the country with its sweeping hills and winding roads.

Free falling is a really good way to describe it. Some days I feel like I forgot to pack the parachute and others I just enjoy the exhiliration. It`s all good!

Hi Epiphanie

I am beginning to find out that we are, indeed, in charge of our own destiny. We have hurdles and bumpy roads to travel along the way but it`s the perserverance to keep going that tells if we succeed at it and achieve it or give up half way through and then spiral into the hole of despair at having no control over our lives.

You raise an excellent point!

Hi Michaelie

Great to see your smiling face! Thanks.... now I guess it`s just a case of finding the remote control in order to change the channels now and again

Hiya Trace

hahaha! Mine clash too my friend, I see I am in good company! That`s when we have to sit back and watch the Gladiator types take to the stage and just enjoy the.. um.... fight scenes!

Good to see you, hope you enjoyed your weekend

Hi Raven

Like Tracey said I love your idea there - that we can change theatres at any given stage. Now that`s some food for thought isn`t it?

Great to see you

Hi Lara

hahahah! Soap opera`s indeed. Stand back Bold and the Beautiful - sometimes their story lines seem dragged from every day life (well maybe not B&B!)

Hiya Toni

ahhhh I never thought of myself as the leading actress.... although that sounds like I have just had the HUGEST idiot moment! I was thinking of watching my life as an outsider instead of actually watching it as part of the movie. Perhaps it`s time to throw away the script and step into the screen instead of just sitting in the audience.
