"Stop Daylight Savings Time" was a blow for the drive-in industry. According to the Cinderella Twin Drive-in website, DST was partly responsible for over 90% of drive-in closures as films couldn't begin until after sunset; a summer film would have to wait until after 9:00 for instance in most locationsGoing to the drive in was a special treat for us kids back in the day. Before the movie would begin was lots of fun if you were young. Some drive-ins has a playground with swing sets and a slid. Other drive in has a merry-go-round with beautiful carousel painted horses. Forget the movie, we wanted to play.Refreshment foods were the highlight of going to the movies. Somehow everything tasted better back
