Rugby World Cup 2007 - Prepare Yourself.

Lesson 2: Wallabies Up in Arms

June 19th 2007 08:12
Just in case I haven't made it clear...my support?...with both hands and all my heart...

Wallabies arm-y © DuskDevi 07

Yes, this is a blog dedicated to Rugby World Cup...and I am not that sin-sular...I know other teams, other countries exist...I was born and bred in 2 of the great Rugby ones... but I call the BEST one, home.

cue: Peter Allen...no not the "...Rio..." one...the one that should be our national anthem

I will do my best not to colour the posts on this blog with my bias.

This blog is already coloured Green and Gold.

Go The Wallabies!

I like your new banner, Duski. Is that you up there?

Hi T....

Thanks for coming over!

It's my secondary blog because well, this is World Cup year and I really should be focusing on that but I didn't want to mix it up with my regular Larkham Rugby blog...

So I guess this is a 'temporary' blog.

Yeah I like my banner too!...and yes, that's me...well, the back of me...

big hugs hon...stay warm in the storm (big one coming tonight I think)

That's a great pic. And it's a good idea to have another blog dedicated to the World Cup...you can go wild with it.

Yes, it's nippy here in Sydney isn't it? I have two pairs of socks on and I can still feel a slither of coldness. mIght have to go up to three,...

you have very long fingers Dusk - you should be a piano player!

dig the banner - the hottest part of the flame is the blue... this is HOT!

button down the hatches your storms have been broadcast all day up here in Queensland. My lil' bro is not a fan of storms so I imagine he is a little worried about them tonight too.

Hi Ash

Yes, Dusk does have impressively slender fingers...and a nice amount of muscle (unlike my puny weak arms)....you also look very agile, Dusk. I don't know why I'm psychoanalysing you from the back...it just seemed to happen, I hope it's not offensive.

The pic really shows your love for the sport well......it's brilliant,

Bye to you both xxx

Hiya Ash hon....Hi again T...

Hope you two don't mind if I answer your comments together.

Firstly I am freezing my...but I won't go in to details...!
Unfortunately the living room fire heat does not disperse throughout the house, so I've had to put the central heating on, which means I'm going to have to plant some more trees and sell one child on eBay...

Seriously cold night. I'm not a fan of storms although it's not about the fear factor (because I'm supposed to be an adult...I want my mummy...), I just respect Mother Nature's fury.

Besides DDH is away...and he loves storms...(the nut goes waterskiing during storms!)...and I just feel... empty without him. Safer with him.

Okay you can stop vomitting now!

In one country I lived in for a while, during one storm season, they had 6 cyclones one aftr the other. The first 2 Eric and Nigel, were devastating. The others, Odette, Ursula, Gavin and Hina, (in that order) weren't as bad but they just compounded the damage.

The reason I remember the names is because...they spell E N O U G H !!

The work crew rebuilding homes and fundraising for the homeless wore t-shirts saying "we had had ENOUGH"!

Thank you re the banner compliments...I am pretty chuffed about it...and coming from you two especially appreciated. You both know I love your banners.

...the hands are symbolic I suppose...my support is right and fitting and I am always left in touch with my fingers on the pulse...

Okay that's just bad!

...and I'm wearing my favourite visor beanie and my GammaBand...

And you can see the back of me because I'm a Forward...!!!

(I put a lot of thought into that photo...in hindsight!)

And no T...it's not offensive at all...the whole point of having a personal shot up is for people to try and understand the point to it. So thank you.

As for my fingers...hmmm...it's not that my fingers are long and slender...I have weird hands.

For about 10 years I 'trained' as a classical Indian dancer...and I don't know if you've ever see this? It's a bit like Thai dancing...but faster and sharper except for the 'static' head and hand poses.

My hands are very flexible and can bend and 'undulate' quite a lot! They're kinda freaky!

I did learn how to play the piano...I'm not very good at all! (but it served its purpose). I'm better at the drums.

The arms are the product of waterskiing, boxing and pumping iron-y....and looking through racks of clothes in op-shops!!!

Okay...lovely Women....thank you for your beautiful warm energy...

big hugs to you both...

Dusk

I think it might be a long night for me if the storm does come and it's ultra loud as my pooch will be petrified. He's not normally scared unless it's a huge one and then he scrambles up my leg for protection, little angel.

You did Indian dancing? I love it, I had a bash at my brother-in-law's wedding and I'd definitely like to do more of it.

That's great you play the drums, I've always wanted to do that too, but have only had a little bash. I need a friend that will let me go wild on them and pretend I'm a crazy rocker (that is so far from who I am actually am, it's comedic).

I have learnt much about you, Dusk...all from one picture of your back and arms...brilliant!

Nighty night xxx

hi ladies

it`s pretty chilly in Queensland tonight... but we don`t have a fireplace or heating our house... how much does that suck?

ahhhh my bro must be under his bed by now... bless his cotton socks... Dusk, you and him? in a storm together? NO GOOD!

The storms here are like in Africa - they are just violent, plain and simple! me = not a fan!

You play the drums? How cool are you? You even have the bandana to go with it! Rock on sistah.

I need a friend that will let me go wild on them and pretend I'm a crazy rockerI

you are so funny Tracy!

went to a music festival last weekend and fell asleep to the sound of drums... have been looking on eBay for one since then... they are amazing aren`t they?

DDH must love your Indian dancing... it`s so seductive... and I`m going to leave that alone....

sleep tight gals... don`t let the bed bugs bite... if they do, bite them back

Hi Dusk,

Cool pic. I agree with everything everyone else has already said.

So Rugby World Cup expert...I read a headline on smh.com.au that the Springboks are going to win the World Cup. What do you make of that? Do they have a chance?

Love & stuff
Mrs M

Hello Mrs M...

Thank you.

In 2003...all the headlines screamed that the All Blacks would win the World Cup and the Wallabies might make it to the semis.

We kicked their butts so hard during the semi-final they were All Black and blue all over.

The match just played in Sud Efrica (Sat 16/06) - it was predicted that the Springboks would win by 50 points.... they barely won by 3 points and that was due to a lucky drop goal.

So...I don't put much stock in headlines.

Yes, technically speaking the Boks are the best team in the world at the moment...their Forward pack is the most efficient at executing set plays and seeing them through (scrums, lineouts)...but, as in 2003...the All Blacks could not put a foot wrong...but on the night... banana skins everywhere.

And Stephen Larkham ruled.

Thanks for dropping by Mrs M.

Be well.....

Dusk

Oh God T....you are very very clever in how you sneak that twist of a witty line in!!!
I've always wanted to do that too, but have only had a little bash. I need a friend that will let me go wild on them and pretend I'm a crazy rocker

That is just such a gorgeous visual! I haven't got the faintest clue what you look like but I have an idea, going by your tone and words and wit...and I'm seeing peaches and cream English rose...thrashing the hell out of a kit!!

I don't play very well nor often...I learned the drums in my early twenties...can only play 'Take 5' Dave Brubeck...enough to make me look cool, sound cool whatever... but I'd freak if asked to play anything else!

I can play along with an 'existing' song, as in I can join in...but I am no Cindy Blackman (my drumming icon. have provided a link if you're interested, she plays drums for Lenny Kravitz)...not by a long shot.

A friend of mine runs a Bollywood Dance studio in Sydney...she's done very well for herself in a short while, she caught a trend wave and rode with it. The studio has featured on many shows and she has appeared on international shows, the students gt chosen for commercials and film, etc. She's a dancer and choreographer and very cool.

Let me know if you ever want the details and link.

I have learnt much about you, Dusk...all from one picture of your back and arms...brilliant!

Er...I don't think you actually asked...I'm obviously in a divulge mood tonight....keyboard logorrhea...key logo?

Hope you sleep/slept well T. Hope your pooch stays calm.

big hugs...

Dusk

Sorry Ash...

I've been looking for that hidden camera you've snuck in to my house...

DDH must love your Indian dancing... it`s so seductive... and I`m going to leave that alone....

That's the 2nd thing now...

Er no...I don't play the drums...I try to play the drums...and try to look cool while doing so...have practised that head in time with foot and lips pursed move in front of the mirror a lot.

Kidding!

...sort of....

....and that's not a bandanna...that's the back of my Wallabies visor beanie...the front has a peak...it's so cool and cozy...

Drums are just so...tribal, primal, hypnotic....

Ther will be no biting tonight. Sadly.

hugs Ash...hope your lil bro is okay...

Dusk
