...married, the Supreme Court said we can, so we are and our wedding date is August 14, my birthday, a honeymoon in Big Sur for three nights; then there will be a ballot in November to wipe us out of sight again.
It will win the majority will vote for the minority, the vote will overturn the ruling. With any luck the ruling will not be retroactive and Paul and I will continue to dearly have what others take so easily for granted; a marriage! At least in the state of California. We are already protected by city and county laws with our domestic partnership certificate, we are lucky to live in such a progressive city, where we can walk down the street and live our lives according to our values and principles. We have been partnered for thirteen years, and we have had our problems mulitplied and complicated by others' bias against us just because we are of the same sex.
Let us see where this new path leads and it will be interesting to watch this path turn into a road well travelled.
