The hottest accessory every season on the Fall runway is most definitely the Boot.
Whilst the popularity of boots as fashion footwear ebbs and flows, today, they are becoming increasingly popular, especially designs that have a long bootleg. Made popular in the 1960s and 1970s, by the singer Nancy Sinatra they had diminished in popularity towards the end of the 20th century. Today they echoe elegance and style.
Boots seen on the runways of Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci and Christian Louboutin are all readily available in high-end shops such as Neiman Marcus, Macy's, House of Fraser and Saks Fifth Avenue. Sites like Bluefly and Overstock.com will also carry premier brands at lower costs. Boots regularly discovered on here are Christian Dior, Sergio Rossi, Miu Miu and the notorious Jimmy Choo.
I loved the Miu Miu Dragonfly available online for a lot less tan the £2,155 retail prices.
We first saw the Chanel black over-the-knee boots on Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada. Kate Moss, Hayden Panettiere and Hilary Duff also followed suit.
The Christian Louboutin Ariella Studded Shoes appears to also be a favourite of many a celebrity. Not one of my personal favourites!
Leesa loves:
- The Ferragamo Neser Riding Boot
- Enzo Angiolini 'Sena' Bootie
- Franco Sarto 'Bundt' Leather Riding Boot
- Prada's Suede T Strap Floral shoe
Gold buttons, epulettes, berets and batons, herringbone wool, four front flap pockets, two internal pockets - the details go on...Military fashion has again had the seasons most prominent designers working through every uniform era in the archives.
Military looks from Temperley, Ralph Lauren, Alexander McQueen, Derek Lam & Collette Dinnigan are attached above thanks to Tania and the team at Fashionising.com
You can see that great coats are again a staple and prominent buttons reinforce the military look whether small or large. A schema of black, blue and red pervade regardless of runway and whilst the beret's military appeal did not emerge until World War I, they are front of house this fall!
The feathered skirt on the Ralph Lauren runway adds a touch of femininity.

There is one trend that never fails to keep us away from the elements and this season its the quintessential Belted Coat... Often the piece of clothing making the first impression in the cooler seasons as practicality takes the fore and we try to protect our carefully tailored suits from the elements and ourselves from the cold - this is one wardrobe item that is definitely worth the investment.

We have always been in awe of our celebrities brave enough to take on a sheer outfit and who could pull off a look that could still be defined as "chic". But finally our favourite designers have delivered for 2008 and 2009 an extravaganza of sheer; chiffon and silks.
The palette is pure black for evening, and nudes, white and pastels for day. Sheer can be added with a ruffle, panel, sleeve detail or layered into our favourite pieces

This seasons once again must-have item for men and women around the world is the scarf. Delicately tied around the neck, pin up style, tied at the wrist or worn as a hair accessory, scarves are veils of freshness in the heat of the summer.

Yves Saint Laurent first used the kaftan shape on the catwalk for evening wear in the 1960s and 1970s. A few seasons ago, Tom Ford played homage to the design and sexed up the image of the kaftan by using flowing silk and animal prints. The loose fitting garment--once thought beyond revival--has now achieved classic status and is available at all fashion-forward boutiques.
But it is a loose-fitting Australian label Camilla that has had extraordinary success in a short time. Camilla established the business in 2004 and its now stocked worldwide. The biggest markets are the UK, the Middle East and Australia

Apparently buying an oversized bag makes a woman feel like she is getting more for her money and theres extra value in this years trend of oversized bags. I heard one female colleague state that they make our bum look smaller. But the simple fact is that bags always fit - even more so than shoes. For there is no discrimination on height or weight in a bag. Lets face it, we love our bags. People are even blogging on how they feel about their handbags...
While the smallest or oversized bags this season are available in day or night versions, more than anything they are expected to be convenient, featuring a large number of easily accessible pockets and storage spaces. I can't go past the Louis Vuitton Monogram Manhattan
