Learning Something Everyday - by Jessicca

You can learn from anything to everything every single day, if you put your heart to notice the little changes in life around you.

Be Strong, not Hard person

April 11th 2007 01:09
Today I found a good article that reflects the issue of strong people who goes through tough times. Sometimes when people faced too many things in life, they just close their hearts and stay away, for there was a popular saying, “Once bitten, twice shy”.

And when they do so, they expect others react the same. Many will do their best effort to protect others by encouraging to “walk away”, but not every situation can be done so. Sometimes, we need to face the obstacle and take it as a challenge to allow our inner-soul to grow

Journey of Water Baptism

March 20th 2007 01:27
Water Baptism, to many people around the world is a very crucial and important ceremony for many believers of Christ. Some might say, “Oh… that’s the end, they are lost to their faith, they can never come back.” These refer to many Chinese families whose background came from the traditional way. Some believed that they are already fanatic, they won’t turn back, they’ll go extreme to talk about God and everything, etc… etc… etc…

But what does Water Baptism really mean? To the scholars they’d probably state, “The word ‘baptise’ comes from the Greek word ‘baptisma’ or ‘baptizo’, which means ‘to immerse, to submerge, to dip’.” Theologians would quote

The Power of One Person

March 15th 2007 01:01
Often a lot of people keep acknowledging that environment, animal extinction, war, society corruption, child abuse, famine or even poverty, is a world issue. “We can’t do anything, that’s how the world goes, let the big boys handle these. We have enough plates on our own.”

But do you know that we all can play a part? Do you know every single muscle tissue in the heart plays a crucial part, that whichever isn’t functioning kills the heart

Today I read an interesting article that I got from a really good book, Self Empowerment, which talks about the demands and disappointments of the many people in this world today.

I too am a person who sometimes likes to demand or expect something is happening in my way, and when things don’t happen, I get depressed. It was after years being close to God I finally calm down myself. Yet sometimes there are times that the undesired anger still surfaces once a while

Have you said Thank You?

January 29th 2007 02:08
This is a beautiful piece I received from my friend via Internet today. After reading it, I realised that our parents can do so much for us, but have we done anything for them yet? Have we seen their childlike smile that is so precious in God's eyes?

I hope everyone will enjoy reading this beautiful article

I'd need help from ASP whiz here...

As I have very limited knowledge on ASP programming (most unfortunately not ASP.NET yet), and the COM engines that displays lots of records of result tends take a long time before showing the result pages

Today's post it is not about what I learned from my experience, but what I am facing. Techies, programmers, web designers are welcome to advice on what I am trying to solve here.

My office has a EDMS database strucutre. Those who doesn't know what is an EDMS is, it stands for Electronic Document Management System

Who were you in your past life?

December 8th 2006 06:44
Insipred with my fellow Orblers I was rather curious about this past life thingy.

I know most Christians won't believe about past life, but it is kind of cool and fun to just read what you might have been if you were to reincarnate... probably you need to reincarnate until you accepted God's grace and believe in him... have anyone ever thought of that? Could be possible... but that is only God will know and if I really remember this question I will definitely ask Him when I see Him

Do you stock up food?

December 4th 2006 07:37
Previously I read about Lilla’s article about the Earth is shrinking because of the increase population and greens are turned into deserts because of the extra need of natural resources, this reminded me of an article from a guy who protested and educated everyone through his article about lowering patrol prices.

The theory was getting what you need for the day. It may not be always full tank but if you know that you ain’t driving too much you shouldn’t keep putting full tank

Recently I went to check out the new apartment rented by my friend, who was wondering whether I would like to move in and share some rental expenses with her. When I arrived there, it was rather small, and doesn’t have the size of the room that I am currently renting, which is situated at the old link house nearer to where I am working now.

Later I have another friend who recently moved to a new city in Germany went through the same process of finding his own small apartment and the rental cost more than what I am paying (if we look in the sense for an apple to an apple). Yet the conveniences like 10 minutes walk to his office was good enough to convince anyone that it was a better deal than to drive to work

Put The Glass Down

November 16th 2006 05:07
This was a really old article that I once read through and almost forgotten. How many times have we allowed problems in our lives to manifest and let ourselves drown in them?

Looking Through God’s Eyes

November 13th 2006 07:39
On my previous post “Thou shall not judge others” I’ve mentioned that we always tend to see on others’ faults to lift up our petty life. Yesterday when I checked my mails I came across this nice article that speaks about seeing through “God’s eyes”, which tells a very touching story about how a daughter sees her physically impaired father. This article not only touches your heart, but also reminded all of us that we not only see other’s faults to uplift ourselves, we also blame on others’ faults whenever we face obstacles or things that we do not like.

Though it’s ironic but it is true. It is always easier to blame our mishaps on others’ faults. This also shows that we tend to run away from situations rather than overcoming them. I hope that through this article we tend to see things, situations and people out of the box, rather than only to our conveniences
