Lazy Kids
January 10th 2012 09:17
Hello everyone, I hope you got through Christmas okay.
I wanted to talk about lazy kids. This Christmas our kids came and spent the night which they had planned a week in advance.
We have a eighteen year old that is pregnant and her 21 year old fiance, and a sixteen year old.
My oldest as I said arrived with her fiance and brought his one year old from another girl.
Now knowing they all planned to stay the night, not one of them brought a toothbrush or change of clothes. When evening came and my wife and I were getting showered and ready for bed, not one of them showered and went straight to sleep.
Now keep in mind they have been to other family Christmas gatherings the same day.
These kids were not raised this way so why is this generation so lazy and have no pride. My daughters fiance is already talking about taking a month off (unpaid) work when the baby is born, and they cannot pay their bills now.
What and why does this generation have such strong feelings of entitlement and just plain laziness.
My wife and I dropped off groceries last week, and when we showed up he was drinking a beer but had no money for groceries or presents for his own daughter. So in conclusion and as cruel as it sounds, I told my wife that if they think their staying here and we are paying while he takes off a month from work, Forget It! If they do not have groceries they can come have dinner with us, because I figure if you have beer money then you have money for groceries. If not tough, we have to cut the cord on these lazy kids.
Hopefully they will learn, as I said they were not raised this way and they better learn. We have done our job and will not finance their life and raise their kids. Society has become soft, we are good parents and love our children, but will not be manipulated from guilt nor obligation to pay for irresponsible/lazy kids.
Oh yeah we scrubbed the house top to bottom after our little dirt merchants left, yuck kids have some pride!
Sorry guys I didnt forget about our coal stove adjusting and how to tutorial I just had to vent. Thanks
