Lady Henrietta Muddling

April 20th 2009 18:36

Lady Henrietta Muddling, I still remember the taste of soap in my mouth when my mother washed it for saying such things in public.

Moonglow.

Well that might explain why you turned out like you did.

As for Morgan? She hangs around the gay communitiy. The things they do but don't talk about are more disgusting than anything I say on Orble. But they're so clean on the outside? Pfft. They're a bunch of deranged people. The lot of them. Nice on the outside. Nasty on the inside. Morgan's true colours are coming out now.

Men lying with men. Women lying with women. Oh isn't Morgan so squeaky clean? Hardly. She's just queen of every playground she plays in. And doesn't like anyone who disagrees with her. I've met things like her in real life. They're pathetic individuals because they can't be honest. They always set themselves up as superior to others. What a crock.

Moonglow,
That is shocking treatment for a parent to inflict on a child. You only make one simple statement but it sounds like you are justifying this behaviour.

What did David say?

10 points says I have said worse in earshot of young children!

Moonglow,

My Mother always kept a wooden spoon in the glove box, and a packet of soaps in the kitchen draw(er)... We we're all taught that good manners cost nothing, but will give you the world.

There is no need for 'Adults' to engage in this vile way, especially not on a site with so many self professed intellectuals.

Hi Moonglow,
How old were you when it happened?
Mau,
Preservation of manners by the use of violence?
It's DRAWER not DRAW. Please pass this information onto your friends.
Who are the self-professed intellectuals? (insert smiley face here)

Mistersmith,

No one is denying that these methods are harsh... but certainly, they were most effective.

Tough love I suppose. I dare say teaching your children respect, and instilling within them a basic sense of self worth is the best a parent can do.

Children who grow up in a house without rules often find it difficult when they are kicked into a world full of laws.

Thank you for the spelling lesson.

My mother has a wooden spoon, too! Thankfully, most days she uses it to stir spaghetti sauce.

Mom drops in now and then to leave a nice comment on my lonely blog, and she is shocked and dismayed at the language she sees on Orble's homepage.

I had to rush "back home" just yesterday and make mom a nice cup of tea...she was so dismayed. The cammomile calmed her down, but she expressed her dissatifaction with me, that's for sure!

"You are the company you keep", Mom said. Now, Mom thinks my salvation is in danger because I blog on Orble.

I explained that some folks weren't as blessed as I was to have such a wonderful mother. That seemed to have smoothed things out.

Hope Orble stays clean for awhile. I'm afraid of what mother will do!

Yes, that's right Moonglow. Troublesome people are often easier to deal with if you just tell them what they want to hear.
Mau? Violence does not teach respect. And the self-professed intellectuals? Who are they?

Hi moonglow,

I love that your Mum reads your blog; that's cool. I don't think my Mum knows what a 'blog' is lol

"You are the company you keep" Wise words, and it shows that sometimes the simplistic statements offer the best solutions.

Mistersmith,

I have been an avid reader on Orble for sometime, and as such, am certain that anyone who has been on this network for greater than a day would have seen these people saying these things... it is not my place to name names, however, you could undoubtedly located some examples given a little effort on your part.

I also didn't say that I condoned children being forcibly made to respect their parents; I do though see respect as something that is gained from setting clear boundaries for your kids, and also teaching them about being accountable for their actions.

My parents always reprimanded me when I was naughty, but we have a really close relationship. They love me for me, and part of who I am is that I strive to be a polite and well mannered person.

I find that children that are badly behaved often have troubled relationships with their parents due to the stress and conflicts that arise from their poor behaviour.

The last time I read of someone speaking in such glowing terms about their mother was Ed Gein the serial killer.
