The buzz has begun…from a simple promo video and song release leak—over the internet.
It is not the fact that the release is entitled “Keep Your Faith” and though it is not a gospel or political song, it can still bring tears to your eyes. It is not even the video’s slide presentation on Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama and family, which, despite its positivity, is still considered irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
What it is…is the unmistakable, unique songbird voice of rising star LaDeana (Luh-Dee-Nuh) Michelle that is spreading like wildfire…that has people young and old alike begging to know more, see more and absolutely hear more of her. Hmm. It is the feeling and emotion LaDeana Michelle delivers, along with her well-written lyrical and musical content. It is also the fact that this relative of soul legends Sam Cooke and Eddie Kendricks of the Temptations clan is a phenom--multi-octave vocalist, songwriter, producer, musician, arranger, composer, actress, screenwriter, poet, print model, designer, CEO and more. It doesn’t even matter that she has over seventeen worldwide releases and a host of A-list credits embodying her name. Let’s cut to the chase.
Here’s what matters….when she sings, you feel it. She delivers pure, uncut emotion.
She could have come from a box on the side of the freeway. If she sang from that box, there’d be a crowd around it.
What matters, is, you see and hear this beautiful, exotic-brown poster girl, yet there is no fluff, no hype, no smoke and mirrors or excessively heavy make-up. I’ll bet she’s beautiful in the morning. LaDeana Michelle is more than an artist and entertainer. She just does it all. Nicknamed by Tupac Shakur as “Worldwide” for her persistent superstar quality, she is an entity. Mogul. Visionary. A highly intelligent, multi-faceted businesswoman. A Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey, Diddy and Kimora Lee Simmons wrapped into one of the most beautiful voices, of which instantly prompts a “who IS that?” whenever people hear it.
More ironic still, people are clamoring to grasp LaDeana Michelle and she hasn’t been officially released yet. “Keep Your Faith” is selling (along with a bonus track equally as great, “From Dollars To Dimes”) at rates considered to be a steal. I don’t understand it. If I had musical talent, everything I did would be sold as a high-priced import. You’d better believe it. I thought I’d never see the day when hard-working musicians have to sell their songs for .99. Whatever floats the boat. Glad I have no musical talent or folks would truly be upset with me.
Back to basics. Is “Keep Your Faith” LaDeana Michelle’s debut? Unofficially, it is, but officially—not really. Rumor has it, in fact, that she is set to barrel forward with a worldwide CD release, self-made millionaire status through business ventures, several upcoming films (there’s also talks of a TV show), commercial real estate ventures, humanitarian project efforts and more and is destined to become one of the world's most influential people of the decade.
We’ll see.
Until then…we will have to be satisfied with what we’ve got—a memorable supply of LaDeana Michelle plastered all over the internet through fan sites, web posts and features.
