Did It Again

Shakira
Shakira

Shakira Did It Again! For her second single from her new album, the Colombian goddess has got the internets talking with her sexy new clip. Did It Again is written, produced by Pharell Williams and takes a more familiar Shakira sound than the previous single She Wolf. The music video for this track is fantastic, a complex chorography scene with a bed the highlight. Make sure you don't look away at 2:29 , because it's really cool.

Battle Of The Boy Bands

November 4th 2009 12:03
BEAST And MBLAQ
BEAST And MBLAQ

In the world K-Pop there is so much happening it's hard to keep up, so today's K-pop is a double dose. While girl groups have been all the rage for most of '09, their are a few boy bands still doing okay. Two new groups, BEAST and MBLAQ, have made their debut's in the last few weeks and are now competing against each other for the spotlight. I am not a massive 'fan' of either of these groups, compared to others, but I do believe they are doing what they do WELL. Whilst you are comparing who is best out of the two, remember we are talking K-Pop and boy bands, so lower your standards before listening to their debut singles below.

Touch Me

Ivy
Ivy

Ivy is the stage name for K-Pop diva, Park Eunhye. After a long hiatus from the music industry because of a sex scandal, which the media fabricated, Ivy is back. Her first single of her new album is a big sounding dance track called Touch Me. This very nineties sounding song, reminds me of something I have heard before, but I don't care because I really like this track. There is no hidding that Ivy and this song is all about selling sex, with a good portion of the 3:20min video being crutch shots, very Madonna esque. This is a very new track so expect it to be hitting the top of the charts in the coming weeks. Check out Touch Me below.

Hurt Feelings

Flight of the Conchords
Flight of the Conchords

Flight of the Conchords is a New Zealand comedy duo composed of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement. Billing themselves as "Formerly New Zealand's fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo", the group uses a combination of witty observation, characterisation and acoustic guitar music. Simply they are fricken hilarious. The boys are back with their second studio album, which basically comprises of songs from their TV show reworked. The first single, Hurt Feelings, of the new album, I Told You I Was Freaky, is another masterpiece. Check out Hurt Feelings(TV version) and my favorite track from their first album below.

Clare Bowditch

The extremely talented and beautiful Clare Bowditch is back with new music! The Aria award winning Australian sing/songwriter has spent the last year in Germany, writing and recording material for her new album which is due out early in 2010. I am a big fan of Clare's work, she takes her music to a new place with every album and keeps you guessing. The first single from her new album is called Start Of War, the music video was shot in Berlin whilst Clare was recording. Check it out below!

09' The Year Of Girl Groups

October 29th 2009 00:57
Girls Generation
The Biggest Girl Group In K-Pop, Girls Generation

There is no hiding from the fact that almost half of the content on this website has become K-Pop related. When I type that out, I am slightly ashamed of myself, never the less their are a good portion of you readers who come here just for the K-pop, so that's good enough justification for me. Yesterday I came across a video compilation on YouTube of a few of the biggest Girl Group songs of 09. It made me realise that Girl Groups have dominated this year in music, in the world of Korean Pop music. This mash-up video only shows about half of the big Girl Groups, but still gives you the idea of how much they have dominated the charts. K-Pop fans stay tuned in November when we count down the biggest K-pop songs of the year. If you are interested check out the mash-up below.

G-Dragon

The proclaimed King of K-pop , G-Dragon is back with his third and final single from his debut solo work Heartbreaker. The third single is Butterfly, a slow 'love song' that has proved to be popular with fans. The video for said song is an animated love story, that is very reminiscent of a Gorillaz, music video. Check out Butterfly below.

Calvin Harris
Calvin Harris

Dance super producer Calvin Harris, is riding a wave of success at the moment with 2 top 5 UK singles and a No.1 album. In his spare time away from touring and producing Kylie Minogue's new album, Calvin has shot the video for his third worldwide single, Flashback. Most likely another hit, Flashback is a big sounding dance track with a very nineties edge. Not Calvin's best work, not his worst. Check out Flashback below.
