Another year is upon us and that means, it's time for the World Buskers Festival here in the garden city. So after a little bit of a break from blogging, I thought I had better take a peek.
I went on Fri 23 with a few friends and it was a balmy evening, just right for sitting outside and relaxing.

For this show Buskers Comedy Club, the hosts were Daredevil Chicken Club

They appeared to be a husband and wife team who I must say, did some interesting tricks with a bannana. They introduced each act as well as growing more risky as the night drew on, but the crowd enjoyed the humour, even the few victims who were waylaid by them.

Next up was Mark Sainsbury from Close Up who was the guest to try a special sandwich made the next act Rob Williams who can make sandwiches with his feet. This went out live on tv 1.

Eating a foot made sarnie, the price of showbusiness lol

The next act up was the comic clown Fraser Hooper, who gave the crowd plenty of laughs with his eccentric dance routines and classic clowning.

It was then time for The Daredevil Chicken club to appear once more.

Can't recall who the next act was, although he was very good had had some members of the audience doing a crazy dance (even if one of them was a bit slow though) lol

Next up was the very talented Mr Fish

Now the only really duff act in the show was a girl from New York and her hula hoops, wasn't that funny and wasn't that good working the crowd either.

The next act on was something else altogether!! The just amazing Russian Bar Trio who are actually from Canada. The mid air back flips that Christine was able to do, were just amazing and you could almost feel everyone in the audience stop breathing, the higher she went.

Overall a great showcase of talent and comic genuis and 3 hours well spent, roll on next year.

Hi Ash

Thats a tough one, all depends on how you feel about the ex, his friend and would you like him to go out with one of your friends really if the scenero was reversed? I would go for further afield as more likely to meet another group of new friends etc. But then sometimes the heart over rules the head.

good luck with whatever path you decide upon

Hi Dana

Great stuff!! And I just love your words, very cool and not often I get jealous about something either But you are so right about noise as I work in a busy office, with phones ringing, keyboards clattering, photocopy machines, beeping, clanking or not working, air con humming etc, so I really understand what it is like to get away from it all.
Over here in NZ we have holiday homes called bach's and I would like one near the mountains, with no tv or radio, so I could just relax and hear the silence as until we hear the silence, you can't hear yourself and reflect.
Look forward to the next part and thanks for sharing too. Oh is it easy to post on here a vid and on utube? As I have an idea for a regular utube slot, just need to sort things out some more.

Hi Ash

Always interesting people watching families isn't it? I used to be amazed at how some kids would behave when they used to play with mine, and how their parents used to interact with their own children. Sometimes I keep quiet other times I wouldn't as children learn by example and if the parent blows his top like that, then what kind of role model is being set?
He should either give them praise for making the various bird noises, telling them which sound belonged to which bird or distracted them with something else?

As always great thoughtful post

on So you want to be a blogger do you?

Hi Nick

Good on you, go for it, carefully choose a domain name that won't date and will cover ALL aspects now and what you might want to run in the future. Then once you have got that sorted started writing on anything in that field, could be things like best food to eat, various treatments, even posts to make you smile? The more you blog, the more your ideas and thinking out side the square will grow.

I just love it when I have a problem and have to think outside the square to solve it, that is what motivates me, this and the fact that I am trying to make a difference anyway I can, no matter how 'out there' the idea seems.

As at the end of the day, all we will have left is the deeds that we have done with our time here.
Not that I am religious or something, I just have my own views and morals.

I don't know if you do? But maybe if your horses are nice enough you could organise rides for cancer sufferer's although I guess with US libel laws, you need to be pretty well covered?

You might find someone at a hospice who might like their life put online?

I have found that the more I blog, the more confident I have become in sometimes just asking for something?

Hope this sort of helps?

Thank you Ash, thats very kind of you to say that, it was about 9 years ago, so pretty much over it now but it did take an awful long time to completly deal with it.
Thanks too Nick, if everyone spends a minute focusing on a positvie outcome, then who knows?
But again thanks guys

Thanks again for that, thought after the last post would make most people sad, then a smile or two would be needed.

Cheers for that Nick, NZ is just the place for owning and riding a motorcycle!!

Hal

Thanks for Nick

Just taken me over 3 hours to compile all three blog posts, so nice to know they are well received. They don't call NZ Godzone for nothing, awesome place and I'm very lucky to live here.
