The Alternative Plan

December 26th 2009 23:04
I finally make enough money to be able to afford to take off and travel. Since I'm not sure where I want to get property, I can still get out of here by going on an extended road trip.

In my days, I've seen pretty inexpensive weekly motel rates. This gives me the stability and flexibility that will suit me perfectly. I know my dog could use a change of pace too.

Most motels have WiFi so working will be no problem. And to be able to see the community, I can work from the local coffee shop too. It will be refreshing to be in new areas and certainly much more peaceful than where I am now. I really could use some serious zen time.

I don't want to spend a bunch of money and funny, it hit me that the money I'd spend on a motel is what I'd spend in utilities if I bought one of the houses I've had my eye on. Since I've gone back and forth and back and forth on a house, I've finally given up and come up with an alternative plan.

Not a bad idea either since I can see all the places I've wanted to check out to see if they are somewhere I'd even want to live. Plus, who can argue with a road trip.

Great article. Enjoyed reading it.

"Obviously, the first thing is to find a job online that pays well enough. Right now, that place for me is probably Demand Studios."

I'm in agreement. I too make the bulk of my money from Demand Studios, but I do it in Keyword QA. I like to write the occasional article at HubPages or on my blog and I've got one so far here, but I do not enjoy writing on a full-time basis. I give you guys credit, that's for sure.

I am curious when you say, "1 hour for looking for new work," where is it that you look.

Perhaps you could write a piece here on your strategies for looking for new work and let us in on your tricks.

Thank you.

I really enjoyed reading this article. I tweeted it at http://twitter.com/VCDrake.

I went to your new site that you listed above. I clicked to sign up for Gomez Peer under you, but they don't support Apple. I've sent them a request to notify me if they ever do.

Thank you.
