The new banner for James Cameron's Avatar is already up in San Diego. Comic-Con is taking place July 22-26.
Avatar opens December 18 in conventional 3D theaters and IMAX 3D starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Peter Mensah, Laz Alonso, Wes Studi, Stephen Lang and Matt Gerald.
From what I gather of bits and pieces, the film concerns an ex-Marine, thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival.
I can’t believe it. Where is the story? I remember playing this game as a kid and can’t believe that a story will actually come from this simple Atari video game. Somehow it will happen because Universal has won a four-studio bidding war to pick up the film rights to the classic Atari video game "Asteroids." Matthew Lopez will write the script for the feature adaptation.
As I remember, the concept of the game was so simple. A player controlled a triangular space ship in an asteroid field. I’d push the buttons on the handle with the intention to shoot and destroy the hulking masses of rock and the occasional flying saucer while avoiding smashing into both.
As opposed to today's games, there is no story line or fancy world-building mythology, so the studio would be creating a plot from scratch. I can’t imagine what that story would be about that could keep an audience interest for at least an hour and a half. But I guess, Universal is used to that development process because, according to THR, the studio is in the middle of doing just that for several of the Hasbro board game properties it is translating to the big screen, such as "Battleship" and "Candyland."
This summer, greed, murder and paranoia take first class seats on Night Train, a taut, new thriller starring Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon, Saw), Leelee Sobieski (88 Minutes, The Wicker Man) and Steve Zahn (Management, Joy Ride). National Entertainment Media brings this nail-biting suspense film in the vein of Shallow Grave and The Ninth Gate to audiences as a simultaneous direct-to-DVD and Blu-ray.
How far would you go to have everything you desire? Christmas Eve… when a veteran conductor (Glover), a young pre-med student (Sobieski) and a struggling salesman (Zahn) discover a dead body onboard a night train, the three strangers find themselves on a collision course with destiny. Among the deceased man’s possessions is a mysterious box, which fascinates their attention. Upon looking inside, they see a treasure so valuable that the three conspire to hide the body and split the fortune themselves. This decision sets in motion a tense game of obsession and deceit, where greed betrays reason and morality gives way to temptation. With local authorities at every stop and an assortment of suspicious passengers along for the ride, can the three strangers overcome their fixation with the coveted box or will they delve even deeper into the trenches of depravity?
I am discovering the joys of watching television shows on DVD -- it beats the commercials. The only hard point is waiting for a TV series to be available on DVD

I rather like this stitchpunk who is called. Voiced by Academy Award Winner Martin Landau, 2 is a kindly but now frail inventor and explorer who embodies the Scientist’s strong creative spirit. An inquisitive personality, 2 is fearless. Director Shane Acker affectionately describes him as a “salty old dog
What is Harry showing Hermonie? Perhaps, the latest news about Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince soundtrack. AOL Radio Station has an exclusive premiere for the new Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince soundtrack. The only catch is that you need to go on the hour to listen to each song on the soundtrack album, one song per hour. I've enjoyed it and recommend you take a listen -- just click on this link at the top of the hour and go to Move Scores.
My daughter loves Alvin and the Chipmunk. I am posting this teaser trailer for her. After watching the trailer I figure Alvin and the Chipmunks go to school and meet some hot chipmunks called the Chippettes, pretty too. I just wonder where Jason Lee is during all the school activities and romance

on Teaming Up for the Perfect Script
Movie Roar
The key is to find someone that works well with you not against you in the sense: not keep obligations, whinning, apathetic and so on.
Two writers working together is a dynamic. Thus, together should produce the desired product.
I must admit it's a pleasure to be able to bounce ideas off someone else which results in a great story/script.
Billy Wilder could do it; "Face Off" script, Mendes new film has a husband and wife team.
