Every weekend in College Football they are some winners and big loser in college football. Ohio State, Boston College, Oregon, and West Virginia are all Bbig winners as they won this weekend. The losers are Florida who won't repeat as national Champion and USC who was rated as the best in the Country and won't be in the championship game either.
I also need to give props to a couple of programs that have relly had some rough football years and that is Kansas and Connecticut. Both of these teams will make a bowl game and the Kansas Jayhawks are still undefeated and in the top 10. I guess it proves if you never give up good things can happen to you.
Boston College went to Virginia Tech and almost left with a losson their resume. Luckily for the Eagles Matt Ryan was their to save the day for them. Ryan tossed two touchdown passes in the last two mintues to give Boston College a 14-10 win and keep their record perfect.
Virginia Tech dominated this game for all but two mintues and they gave Ryan problems all night long. It seem at the end they got tired and made some crucial mistakes that cost them. It will be interesting because these two teams could meet again in the ACC championship Game.
Well we did find out a few things last night when the Boston Red Sox and the Colorado Rockies open the World Series up. First of all Josh Beckett is the real deal no matter who he pitches against. Layoffs are not a good thing and the Red Sox can hit the ball and very hard.
The Rockies were trounced in all phases of Game 1 of the World Series by a score of 13-1. You could see the layoff really hurt the Rockies and Beckett was on last night. When Beckett is in his zone he is very tough to gets hits off of. The Rockies need to win Game 2 so they won't have to come back to Boston. It's tough to win at Fenway Park no matter who you are.
This is a subject that everyone is discussing right now. Boston College is No. 2 and Ohio State is rated No. 1 but do these two teams deserve those lofty rankings. Now I'm not here to say either team isn't good, as but are good teams. Are they in the same class as an LSU? NO, I don't think they are. The Big Ten isn't very good this year and Boston College really haven't played anyone just yet so I can't really say. I do think both teams have harder games coming up and we will see how well they fare.
In my mind I've seen all the teams in the Top 25 right now and without a doubt the SEC is the toughest division and LSU in my mind maybe the best team in the country. I guess in a few weeks we will see if I'm right or I'm just blowing wind.
The Indianapolis Colts showed the Jacksonville Jaguars and the rest of the NFL they have no plans on going away quietly as they routed the Jaguars 29-7. The Colts have everything you need to repeat and that is a great offense and a very good defense.
As long as you have Peyton Manning on your side the odds look very good for the Colts to repeat. It will be interesting to see how well they do when they play the New England Patriots later this year. That will be the game to watch.
Well another Saturday of College Football and many great games were among the slate. LSU needed a last second pass to secure a win at home against Auburn. South Florida lost to Rutgers Thursday Night which help open the door for LSU again. South Carolina bit the dust against Vandy which was a real shock. Ohio State kept the top spot though it wasn't as impressive as it could be.
West Virginia could be the bigger winner in this all as they won and couple with the losses they look to move up in the polls and the BCS ratings. I guess this season every game outs until the end. Should be real interesting in the next four weeks.
South Florida came in riding high and found out being unbeaten this year is a curse after a 30-27 lost at Rutgers. Rutgers used some trick plays and some calls at the end to help them hold off South Florida. This college football season one loss isn't the end of the world. In fact one loss may get you into the Championship game. Even two losses doesn't totally eliminate you the way this crazy season is going.
It doesn't pay to be highly ranked or talked about it seems. I guess we will see what happens this weekend more upsets could follow and we might not have any unbeaten's by Novemeber the way it's looking right now. I think that would be great that way we could scrap this BCS system.
The biggest decision in New York Yankees eyes will take place in a meeting room and not on the field. Will Joe Torre be back? Is A-Rod leaving? Both of these questions are what is on the pulse of New york. That probably won't change anytime soon either. According to A-Rod a decision should come soon. As far as Joe Torre who knows what will happen there.
Personally I'm not New York Yankee fan, but firing Joe Torre really doesn't make a lot of sense if you ask me. I guess a change has to happen sometime but as long as he is winning games a change is unneccesary. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens to Joe Torre and A-Rod.
