That's right. Saw an ad for a wellness center..."It could take her 43 years to realise she already has a weight problem. Don't leave it too late to learn what your body may already know" They were talking about a baby STILL IN THE WOMB

Not Even Born And Start Thinking Abt Weight Issues?

I had a "Dr Phil" moment over this and thought "What a load of crap". Slick advertising or way over the line. I say way over the line.

So you want pregnant mums stressing out over whether their baby is overweight or not? Hey, I've experienced those hormones.. and those moments (when you don't know why, but you are crying.. ) AND don't want to be having to be hung up on if my baby has the correct Body Mass Index!

We already have to deal with being bombarded with unrealistic figures in every aspect of the media.. and it seems we can't even wait until a baby is born before we address the "weight" issue.

Shame, shame shame.

Public Memorial For Steve Irwin Announced

A public memorial for Steve Irwin will take place next Tuesday or Wednesday. At a news conference, John Stainton, Steve's best friend Wes and Steve's Dad Bob announced that the celebration of Steve's life will be held next week, possibly at Suncorop Stadium. They are awaiting details from Queensland Police before confirming the venue over the next day or two.

At the press conference, the requested that no questions be asked about the detail of the private funeral which took place at Australia Zoo. When asked about the public having access to Steve's final resting place, John said that it would be a family decision.

They stressed the importance of it being a celebration as Steve wouldn't have wanted it to be a sad affair. Celebrities have offered to help out with the celebrations, but the logistics still need to be confirmed. It will probably be Terri and the children's first public appearance since Steve died.

So, let's all get behind his family and friends and celebrate Steve's great life the way he would want it to be.

When The Remote Controls You...

It is some sort of conspiracy theory? One handheld device created so you for your convenience could be the one controlling you?
You're thinking "BALONEY'.. That thing doesn't control me!! Following are some senarios that will make you think again:

[SENARIO 1: The Remote Goes Missing
It's gone missing! Will you have to actually have to walk to the TV, physically press the "CH" button to change the channel yourself? Heck no! You turn the lounge upside down just to find the remote so you won't have to touch the TV at all. It starts of as a simple "one person search party" operation. Ten minutes later, you call for your partner to come help. Another five minutes, you stop the kids from washing the dishes to help you look. You ring your dad to see if it didn't accidently drop into his pocket while he was over watch the League. Still no remote? You start racking your brains so much that your neighbours can hear your thoughts and you know you have two options: 1. Search through the rest of the house or 2. Drive to the local mall and buy a replacement.

SENARIO 2 You Fall Asleep With The Remote In Your Hands - And Won't Let Go!
My partner did this the other night, whilst watching TV he nods off. Now I know he's sleeping because he's actually snoring - but somehow his hand is firmly wedged around the remote. Of course I want to watch something more to my liking and when I reach for the remote, his inner- male kicks in and instinctively he tightens his grip on the remote (while he's still snoring!)

Do the above senarios familiar to you? It's okay, you don't have to answer aloud!

In today's world we have remotes for everything. We can set a timer on our remotes so the TV will turn off by itself. We have remotes to open the garage door automatically so we don't have to get out of the car, open the garage door ourselves, and go back into the car to actually put it in the garage. There's remotes to turn lights on.. oh course the remote for the DVD, Sound System, TV, Digital TV, and VCR (if they're not obsolete yet). Heck we've got a remote control for our car stereo and it's within touching distance

So could you do it? Could you give up the remote controls up in your home if you were asked to?

Aussie Legends Die

It's been a tragic week for Australians. We are all reeling over the loss of two icons, two legends in their own right - Steve Irwin and Peter Brock.

The beauty of being a legend is that when you do die, your legend never will. The things that you have been passionate about live on in the people that you have touched - in these cases probably millions that you will have never met. They will be the ones working tirelessly at the Animal Hospital in Austalia Zoo, the devoted ones who go to Bathurst in your memory every time. They will be ones who will do more than lay flowers to remember you by
