The Chapters of Her Voice

April 20th 2010 04:33
As I sit hear and listen to albums after albums of underrated recording artist. I came across a young woman. A powerhouse vocalist of todays r&b music. Unfortunately Syleena Johnson is considered by most to be underrated. But having 4 albums under her belt, and charted on the top 50; Syleena is considered one of the best r&b vocalist. Coming form a line of recording artists, and attending college majoring in music Syleena is what the r&b game needs.
Her first album entitled Chapter 1 Love, Pain, & Forgiveness gives her listeners just a taste of what she has experienced. She gave you songs, that touched minds, and souls. In the album Chp. 1, Syleena open doors of topics that most, or should I say the majority of female r&b singers choose NOT to write/sing about. Such as songs like "Hit On Me" where she talks about being involved in a domestic violence relationship, and trying to overcome it etc: I believe song topics like such is what sets Syleena Johnson apart from the norm.
In Chapter 2 "The Voice", & Chapter 3 "The Flesh", Syleena comes out more expressively, throughout her song topics, and her vocals hence the album titles.
Syleena Johnson new edition of her life entitled Chapter 4 "Labor Pains", debuted in December of 2008,on her own record label Aneelys Records; Syleena once again allow the production of this album to show another piece of her life's puzzle. Chp 4, has songs such as "Shoo Fly" which was followed by the first single of the album "It Is True". Both singles have been received as another Syleena Johnson hits.
In conclusion, for those who read this and appreciate good music; music that has different aspects of the word we call "LOVE"; for those who can relate to pain, struggle, betrayal, disappointment, and disrespect, lastly for those who likes to listen to GREAT singers. Please do yourself a favor, and just pick up, or download Syleena Johnson either Chp 1, 2, 3, or 4, oh hell download them all, you will NOT be disappointed.

And when you do, I would like to hear your feedback, do you agree that Mrs. Syleena Johnson is a great underrated powerhouse.

Ebonies & Ivories of Freedom

Since her last album "As I Am", that was released 2 years ago; Alicia Keys has been busy. From performing, and working on her foundation "Keep A Child Alive". She still found time to jump back in the recording studio and record her 5th album (including the Unplugged), which is entitled "Elements of Freedom". I must say I heard several snippets of this new album, and to me.... its DIFFERENT from all of her other albums that she released in the past. For those who are musically inclined, the production of this album would amaze you. There are not a extreme amount of triads, and 7th, 9th chords nor arpeggios. But there's hard hitting bass lines, reverb, flanger efx that is mixed in with the smooth vocals, such as "Love Is Blind", and "Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready).
Now for the everyday listeners. fans, etc: you still have the elements of Alicia Keys piano skills in the top charting songs like "Doesn't Mean Anything", and another rendition of "Empire State Of Mind". last but not least for all the Beyonce fans, Alicia Keys found time to record a head nodding recording featuring Beyonce entitled "Put It In a Love Song".
Overall this album show maturity from the production aspect of it. "Elements of Freedom" shows growth not only within the composition, & lyrics. But it also shows growth within Alicia Keys.
In my opinion to enjoy listening to 8 tracks out of 16 is a good album.
Should you go out and buy it, or download off of ITunes....... YES!!!!!
Shout out to Swizz Beats... lol

The Eccentric Fame

You can love her, hate her, but you have to respect Lady Gaga success. For those who do not know, Lady Gaga has made history becoming the third recording artist to have three number one songs off of their debut album on the Top 10 charts. There has been plenty of rumors that has been circulated about Gaga. Rumors about her being a hermaphodite, a man, even a homosexual. But the self confident, sexy steam machine said that in fact she is bisexaul. In my opinoin, people will degrade, disrespect, and become afraid of what they do not understand. I don't really care about what sex organs she may have, or what her sexual preference/s might be. All I know is that her song writing, producing skills is off the hook. Lady Gaga gets everybody moving in & out the clubs. All of Gaga's songs "Just Dance", "Poker Face", "Love Game", "Paparazzi", and her latestt joint that is currently rocking the radio airwaves "Bad Romance" is addictive to listen to. I highly suggest for those who tends to ignore her attributes to the music industry, & all of the haters...take a listen to Lady Gaga, and expand your horizons becuase she is here to stay.
